View Full Version : Anybody got a Garmin GPSmap 60csx GPS?
I am looking at getting a used Garmin GPS. It is a GPSmap 60 CSX. The pawn/gun shop has one at a good price. I want to be able to use it to navigate between public and/or privateland. It can upload maps, but does it have the capability to upload a US Forest Service or BLM map or other maps that would show property boundaries on it?

GPSMAP 60CSx (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=310&ra=true) info page.
Add More DetailThe 60CSx comes with a blank 64 MB microSD card, so you can store extra maps from optional MapSourceĀ® mapping software. Just connect to your computer with the USB cable, and you can load map data or transfer routes and waypoints. You even can purchase microSD cards that are preloaded with MapSource maps, which means you don't have to connect to your computer. The microSD card slot is located inside the waterproof battery compartment, so you never have to worry about water getting inside
That's all I can help you out with. I have a Garmin Nuvi 205W.

I have one. Works great. A 1gig will be best. Also price out the software 1st before you buy. Garmin Mapsource, topo maps and any other ones you want. Mapsource is how you get maps onto your gps. I think the unit only comes with a pretty useless base map loaded. Mapsource and topo maps for the garmin can be expensive.
I had a garmin and I ended up taking a class on how to use it and finally I traded in a deal for a gun.

Gps has its place but a map and compass are irreplaceable.
