Oh yeah. Maybe he has standing to sue the manufacturer?

Its always a good idea to be careful about mixing ammunition around you or on you when shooting.
Pretty lucky guy...all things considered!

the 300 blackout uses the same 556 case, but the bullet is a 300 blackout. It would chamber.
I presume...
That is a newer one, there was one from last year on AR15.com where the guy loaded .300 blk in his 5.56 and it slamfired, only problem the .30 cal bullet did not go down the tube and his whole upper exploded. This guy tried the same and is really lucky, 2nd page of the thread shows the .30 bullet or jacket stuck in the barrel.
That is why I use different colored mags for 5.56 and for .300 Blackout. Helps me separate them.

Yes your right but more specific 5.56 will fit in the chamber for .300 Blk, same case but smaller bullet, .300 BLK in 5.56 a barrel wont go down all the way because of the larger bullet.
Either case can be dangerous and this guy was lucky, very very lucky.
Big gun fall down and go BOOM!

it never fails... EVERY time one of the academy classes has been to the range... Someone after them puts a .40 down a .45.... Happened again today....
Someone always unloads their .40 and tosses all the rounds into the .45 box... BUT! Problem could be solved by checking your rounds before you load them...
When will people learn....

Eh...the guy made a mistake. He knows it. He knows he should've been more careful. I commend him for using his unfortunate - and easily preventable - mistake to remind us all not to become complacent.
Wish I could say I haven't had a dumbass attack here and there.
That could have been much worse! I'm glad that he was big enough to admit that he was a dumbsh*t and screwed up!

When I go to the range I only load the gun I am shooting, one gun at a time, I do not pre-load guns or mags at home before I leave the house. When I finish shooting one gun I clear it, put it back into it's case and secure the ammo before I pull out the next gun and ammo.
If I take a friend to someplace like Pawnee I use a loading table for loading and unloading guns and make sure everyone is on the same page for safety. Once the bullet leaves the barrel it ain't coming back (I hope).
