Captain Caveman was good, another cartoon voice of the great late Mel Blanc. The Jetsons were more my time era. Mel Blanc did Mr. Spacely's voice. Very funny... "Jetson your FIRED!!!!" I still use that line at work sometimes.

Mel Blanc is my hero the best cartoon voice to ever live. For those of you with kids who would like the looney tune collection I have them all. I am in the process of converting them to DVD yeah go ahead and make fun of me. :P I love my Looney tunes to this day.

none of this PC crap that IMHO is 100x worse for kids.

I have watched some of my favorites and they have been edited out of recognition

The liberals are afraid of too much violence but they want to teach sex in schools during the first grade.
By the way I don't remember drive by shootings and killing somebody for their shoes when I was a kid. But maybe was sheltered

I sat down with my (then) two year old daughters to watch Looney Tunes one evening. I realized maybe they weren't ready for some of the images they saw. Sylvester chasing Tweety with a knife, Slowpoke Rodriguez shooting Sylvester in the face.

Of course I knew the difference between fantasy and reality, but they still get a little shaken up when they see some things cartoon characters do to each other. Call me old fashioned, but I'd like for them to hold on to their innocence just a bit longer. I of course enjoyed every minute of it.

Mista Bukit: Did you grow up in Aurora? I sure remember gang violence in Aurora as I was growing up. I was accused (and later threatened) by "ganstas" of being a Skinhead because I wore a leather jacket and rode a skateboard. Funny. I'm not even white.

I did grow up in Aurora and went to Hinkley so I'm probably dating myself but the only gang problems I remember were between the cowboys (goat ropers) and the hippie freaks. Fistfights were the norm then.
I can understand your concern about small children (since I have none) I can be the "expert". If I did have children I am not sure how I would handle the TV, because I find a lot I see offensive and my wife is even more sensitive than I am.
Now that I think about it a lot of the Loony tunes probably went over my head when I was small because now I find some of the humor was adult oriented.

The japanese animation was different at the time. The one thing that surprises me as I see these shows as an adult, the sound effects were pretty amazing for the time.
