No, no its not. I had a reservist get "realigned" out of a job while deployed to Iraq years back. That sheriff's office in CA got bent over in the subsequent litigation.

Does her case have any legal merit? The article states that her contract was expired and not renewed, not that she was terminated....

If she can show her reserve time was the determining factor in not renewing her contract, then yes it does. That will be the key factor in her case.

The Weather Channel fired this lady, seems they don't agree with her Air Force Reserve duties and Mitt Romneys' Bain Capital is one of the owners...

No doubt Romney was the driving force behind her dismissal from the Weather Channel.

Exactly, damn that Romney and that evil, capitalistic Bain...
Really no reason to mention Bain, other than to put out a hit on anything tied to Romney.
Frickin pathetic that they have to politicize damn near every story.
And NBC is such an upstanding and accurate news source, their cutting edge journalism set the bar in the Zimmerman case afterall.
You'd think they'd at least keep her around to get their coffee...

Whats even more aggravating is some of the comments: "What about the employer's perspective Reagan. Is everyone supposed to reschedule their careers to allow this officer the opportunity to get her twenty years in. I didn't know you could use your military service career as a means to blackmail a private sector employer. Another military perk." Well, in a word, YES! They knew she was in the military before they hired her so yeah they have to work around that. Its called THE LAW! I wish I could slap this commenter.

I've run into people that this has happened to a few times. In all the cases the company was allowed to do whatever they wanted. It's just another law that is not enforced.

Everyone is aware that Mitt is no longer connected to Bain Captial as of 2001 right
Yes he made have founded the company but I'm willing to bet there have a least a few business decisions since he's been gone.
Or it kinda the whole "Bushs Fault" thing where anytime BC is mentioned its "Romneys Fault"
Say what you will they have saved a large number of business (IE jobs) from going under. Not every business can be saved and sometimes you have to divide them up and move on. If you cannot create a solid business model that doesn't require government subsidies then you're going to either fold or get bought up by one of these firms and maybe get a second chance.
