I just picked up one of Sig's new leather CCW jackets - very nice. It has a huge internal pocket on both sides of the zipper secured with two velcro closures each. The inner lining is a rather thick fabric with a pile lining which was quite warm wearing it outside while walking my dog yesterday. The lining forms the inside of the hidden pockets with the leather the outer.

The pocket is large enough to easily take any normal size pistol or revolver (excluding the Hunter models). It also has a small built in elastic sleeve on the inside which I found easily secures the S&W 340PD that is my carry everywhere gun. I also had a pocket sleeve for the 340PD which I use in lighter jackets and pants pockets to keep it from obviously printing and it kept the revolver from moving around in the pocket when not in the elastic sleeve. The Sig jacket outer layer is heavy enought that it didn't show through at all. The built in elastic sleeve also fits my P239 and secures it from moving around which might elevate it to carry everywhere status. Other pistols with sharp edges might need something to keep the sights from chewing up the interior of the hidden pockets, but the jacket looks and feels rugged on the inside while suiting more dressy occasions than the Carhartt style on the outside.

Sounds like it's a great jacket. I have one of those coming from their Dec. contest along with the P232. Your review makes me impatient for mine to get here.

I haven't figured out how to post pictures yet, but here's the link to the Sig website.

Field Report. I've been wearing it quite a bit lately. It's comfortable and warm - in fact it may be too much jacket when it gets warmer. The thick liner that makes the inside pocket completely lines the jacket and it's a nice heavy weight leather. It reminds me of some of the high quality motorcycle jackets I used to wear like my Hein Gerike. I've worn it walking my dog in the 30-50 degree weather we've been having with no problem. It might be too much when it gets over 55-60 and is just a little too little for the 10-20 we had the last couple of weeks - although a pile vest and wool scarf with appropriate gloves would probably make it comfortable for more dressy but casual wear like in and out of the car running errands, going to the theatre, etc. I wouldn't go hiking in a snowstorm without augmenting it as mentioned.

All in all, it was well worth the price and looks good too! If something happened to it, I'd definitely buy another. In fact I'm thinking of checking out the cloth version as well for more casual wear.
