View Full Version : Request Improvements here
In an effort to keep things organized for me, and reduce the need to go back looking for a thread from weeks ago where an improvement was requested, please post all site modifications, improvements requests, works-to-do here. (Someone please sticky for all to use)
I will respond, and moderate comments to all requests. Something like "DONE!" or "MAYBE LATER" or "NOT GOING TO HAPPEN" added to the requests to keep track of any work everyone wants.
With that in mind, don't hold back anything. Something may take a while, but if it is important and not insanely difficult or time-consuming, I'll oblige. Something that you perceived as hard may be rather easy, or I'll suggest a comparable alternative that is easy.
Don't expect anything that isn't life-or-death right away, but whatever you have, bring it on!
Heya J, is it possible to turn off the indenting that PMs are doing now? After about the 3rd quote they become undreadable. 4th or 5th level quotes become 1 column of characters which are impossible to read, and make me have to scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll to get to the bottom. Can you help?
I couldn't get rid of it, but I did make them quite a bit smaller. See if that helps.
Found one more CSS selector I could trim some space from. Should be even better now.

Seems much better Justin and THANK YOU.
Still slow to load on the Blackberry, that is what I am on 99.5%
Remember (a) Get a different browser (Firefox or Chrome) other than the Blackberry browser, which is notoriously slow, and (b) turn off avatars and signtures. Also (c) consider giving Tapatalk another try. It's clunky but fast.
So what's the deal with the search function. The Advanced Search offers exactly ZERO extra features now that I can't search specific subforums. Has anyone else noticed this?
I have a feeling this is an issue with the version of the latest V-bulletin, but can anything be done about it?
I still want a "like" button.

In advanced search, at the top... click the tab that says "Search single content type". Then you can search individual subforums.
What are the chances of moving the "Mark Forum Read" button anywhere that is not right next to the "New Posts" button?
On a side note, I can't imagine why I would want to mark the entire forum as read, without first having read it.
I've done that a few times too. I'll reorganize.
That'd be great. Only really an issue on mobile devices with touch screens.
Would you consider making this thread a sticky in the NFA forum: http://www.ar-15.co/threads/115513-Colorado-form-1-amp-4-transfer-data
Right now this data is scattered about in individual notes, thanks!
O2
So for the last 10 days or so the site has been painfully slow from a TCP perspective. I am seeing 8+ seconds of connect time on each and every request. To get technical. My SYN, SYN+ACK is coming back nice and fast, but then send an ACK+data (HTTP GET) -- and WAIT.. and WAIT.. and WAIT.. Then I get a nice pipelined dump of everything (ACK+data) all at once. Are the threads all *that* busy or is the site just queing a ton trying to get through all the new FW rules (DNS matching going on?)?
I have tried this on multiple networks, multiple connection methods, and multiple browsers (chrome to wget) -- all the same.

Much gooder now. Thank you.

How about a chatbox feature?
Subject: Reviews sub-section
Suggestion:
We have sections for gun/gear reviews and dealer/range reviews. What about a general business review section, like a COar15 version of Yelp or something.
Reason:
Today I went to a barbershop, but removed my pistol and mag before I went in since I knew I'd have to remove my outer shirt for the beard trim, and would effectively be OC while in there. The barber noticed the empty holster and said I didn't have to come in without it, and that they "fully support carrying firearms". Obviously, this is a place I will be frequenting more, and since the service and quality was great, I would love for other members here to know about it as well. But a thread in dealer/range would be out of place and it will likely get lost after a week or two elsewhere.
My small business fully supports carrying firearms. Can I make a review for myself?
I suppose you can. But your mere presence is a forum improvement, Irving.

It is so.

Now get back to posting funny pictures. Why else do you think I come onto the site every day?
