will 13.7" handguards cover a rifle length gass system or will the gas block be poking out the front

The block will slightly protrude based on this image from larue:

The top upper is a 13.2" handguard with a rifle gas system. If you imagine another 0.5" of coverage, the gas block would still stick out a bit.
What Baglock1 said, a standard rifle length handguard designed to slip into the trianglecap is 12. 3 or so some odd inches the 13.7 will almost cover it but will stick out a bit. You would have to go 15" system to completely cover.

arghhh thats so gay....what is that little deal in front of there gas blocks?
this troy one dosent look like it has that and would hang out nicely inside or am i looking at this wrong?

According to the pictures in the link above, that Troy gas block would be completely covered or just even with the end of the hand guard. That gas block is basically half the length of the ones in the LaRue link.
Another option is the 15" Troy rails. That's the direction I"m heading with my 18" upper that has the rifle length gas system.
