Cleaning light surface rust on SS barrel

Hi fellas,

Pop just gave me a Marlin 60SS 22lr:

It has some very light California surface rust on the barrel. I tried some CLP and a rag but it didn't do much. What works good without gooning up the barrel?

green or white scotch-brite with clp ?

Use about a 10% oxalic acid solution. Not only will it clean it, but it also promote passivation of stainless.
