Hi folks,

I just want to know if someone wait more than expected time to receive the CCW Permit in El Paso county?

I haved my appointment and leave my papers in May 12, today a month and a day later nothing received.

I remember than the lady told me that I are suppose to receive the CCW Permit in the mail in 2 weeks.

Anyone have the same issue? I plan to call in the the next days anyway but just to know if I'm the only unlucky.

I thought in El Paso they just gave them out on the spot as door prizes just for coming in...

Took them 8 weeks longer than it's supposed to for a buddy of mine who got his last year... right on five months from his interview and fingerprinting.

I think they have 90 days, took mine exactly that long... I'd hunker down and be ready to wait at least that long.

The lady usually knows the current wait time. Strange that it's taking that much longer, but the delay is usually at the state level.

90 days is the max allowed by law, so they have to issue after 3 months unless they've found something bad...

Usually whatever the nice ladies there say is just about spot on. They're not stalling like some counties do, they're cranking them out as fast as the background checks come in. They just process so many a week (85?) it has to be a couple people's full time jobs.

A month is not a "long wait".

When I turned in my application back on 1 February, it took 7 weeks for it to be approved.

2 weeks is unheard of. Maybe she gave you bad info. Took me about 8 weeks as well. They have to do a background check and all that jazz so it take awhile. Gotta love the anticipation of checking the mail everyday wondering if its there. LOL

With the number of applicants on the rise expect anywhere from 90-120 days.

With the number of applicants on the rise expect anywhere from 90-120 days.Since Colorado is a "shall issue" state, if you haven't been notified yay or nay on the permit after 90 days, go to the Sheriff's Office and ask them for your permit. :)

My wife had her appointment at the end of May and was told 8-9 weeks. The thing that surprised me was that it took about 10 weeks to get an appt after taking the class. My brother was the same, called to schedule at the end of Nov, got in mid-February.

It took 77 days beginning in Sept. 2010 for mine to arrive in the mail.
A friend told me his appointment to meet with the Sherriff Dept. took over a month. They are that busy.
Otherwise, I have nothing but good things to say about them.
