Anyone else watching this?
My boys and I have watched every episode so far and enjoy it.

Watching this, especially pertaining those guys in Montana, wouldnt you carry a
rifle like an M1A or AR10 or even an AR15 with heavy gr bullet instead of
a double barrel break open shotty, like the friend of Tom's carried tonight?

I know I would for bear protection on top of having a 44mag or better on my hip.

I also really like this show. Way better than the other crap on History and Discovery as of late.

I have been watching it. I agree. A .44 on the hip and probably a .44 lever gun full of Buffalo Bore rounds just in case.

I caught an episode the other night. Field and Stream had an article about Marty up in Alaska about a year ago. He's an interesting character. Got sick of paying for charter flights, so he learned how to fly and work on planes. They also talked about "bone crusher", his .358 Norma Mag, and his FA .454 Casull he keeps in the cabin. They guy has spent so much time up in Alaska's interior, going into town spooks the hell out of him.

Been watching also. Great so far especially the last episode with the realities of relying on others and the daily rigors day to day life and survival in the wild!

I only caught one episode and liked it. I couldn't really understand why the Montana folks let their GSP run around in bear country like they do. I'd keep her in sight at all times!

Yeah but damn, if you miss due to the fear of a gigantic grizzley with it bearing (get it bearing [ROFL1]) down on you
and attempting to reload. Id want something with more then 5 shots IMHO.

It's a good show per say.
Alot of scripting, shopped camera scenes, etc.
Marty was relieving getting stuck out away from the cabin. They grab whatever gun is available for a shoot not rememebering what they did with the first segment .IE: Eustice has Justin sight in a lever action, then mis shoots a deer with a bolt action and finally shown tracking with a shotgun.
And the MT bizzard was never happening, showing no ice on the shore or rocks but then a frozen waterfall???where, and snow was slushy like early fall or spring before the limbs on the willows start to green.
And Tom lives a 100 miles from civiliazation, however he has a graded snowplowed road to his house, a RR track out back of his property, and a whole lot of electrical stuff. His neighbor also has a job in town they said on the first episode.

Henry Frapp: I thought you got lost again.
Nathan Wyeth: Haven't you ever been lost?
Henry Frapp: Hmmm... been fearsome confused for a month or two, but I ain't never been lost!

I can get lost in the city, but can truthfully say I have never been lost in the woods.

I enjoy the show but the music is a bit over the top. At one point in the show it shows one of the protagonists replacing the belt on his busted snow mobile. During this process the following song was playing:

All of the dramatic music from this show is pulled from this company http://www.twostepsfromhell.com/
Great music, used in a lot of ads and movies.

Think I even heard this song in there at one point. Maybe when they were cutting wood or something :) Epic wood cutting music

I've been looking forward to this show for months and they've been DVR'd but I haven't had time to watch any of them yet. Hopefully this weekend.
