MSNBC She knew what she was in for before she sat down and got mic'd up.

Good for her taking on the anti crowd and fighting the good fight.

Yeah, she did very well. I love the Brady Bill guy when he says "nobody wants to ban guns..." Instantly judged as a giant douche by me...nah, maybe a turd sandwich. [LOL]

She did well but she still misses the main point that gun control DOES NOT save any lives and in fact COSTS lives.

According to the FBI there are between 800,000 and 900,000 crimes committed with firearms annually.
According to a dozen or so studies done since the 1990s and now there are between 1.5 and 2.5 MILLION self defensive uses of firearms annually.

Guns do more good than harm. Gun control kills. John R Lott is right; more guns=less crime.

I'm disappointed she did not mention Fast & Furious and the real reason for it, when the panel insisted no one is going after guns and the Gvt can be trusted. But, she did do well considering she had to debate 4 of them.

My favorite is Heather McGhee coming to the Brady Campaign's aide by saying that this is the problem with professionalization of lobbying.

THE GUY YOU'RE BACKING IS A PROFESSIONAL LOBBYIST. HE MAKES NO MONEY UNLESS HE RUNS AROUND THE COUNTRY CREATING MASS HISTERIA ABOUT THE "EVILS" OF GUN OWNERSHIP!

I personally love professional lobbyists. They are the market's answer for governmental actors who are notoriously unreachable. Don't get surgery without a surgeon, don't go to court without a lawyer, don't go to Congress without a lobbyist.

I can't remember the quote exactly (the numbers that is) but it went something like "10 million legal gun owners in the US today, and not one of them committed a crime."

The Brady bunch needs to be sent into a very high orbit, somewhere in vicinity of the sun!

Just once I want to be on one of these debate shows and have some anti-firearm person use the line 'We're just trying to save lives' so I can say that I agree with them and I too want firearm violence to decrease but one of us lives in a fantasy world where proven statistics about unarming citizens and how it relates to violence and one of us lives in the real world where increased legal firearm ownership directly relates to decreased firearm violence.

Oh yeah, and SE Cupp is schmokin' hot and I would do some things to her that would leave use both with intestinal distress for a week.

I don't know the exact quote, but Clint Van Zandt a former FBI agent and who is frequently on the news said after Virginia Tech when gun control could be an issue, that he knows of 60 million legal gun owners that did not walk into a school today and shoot it up.

That Gross guy on the video is one of the gayest looking dudes I have seen in ages. He has colon cowboy written all over him. Not sure why gay community doesn't seem to like guns. Have seen quite a few speak out against 2nd amend. Of course Obeyme and the mayor of Chicago look pretty damn queer too.

Not really sure what someone's sexual preference has to do with this conversation but, whatever.

Jer
06-16-2012, 08:10
Whatever?

If you read previous posts...I wasn't the only one who noticed the lite looking guy, Gross, in the video. Another member referred to him as a "Nancy". I was just expounding on that comment. No one against the 2nd amendment is an ally of ours...be them straight or gay. Just saying...whatever.

Phrases like 'The gays want to take our guns from us' are about as ignorant as it gets & do nothing to further our cause of championing 2nd amendment rights. If you truly care then try to bring a little more to the table.

There was a black woman on the panel & Obeyme as you call him is also black so what are you going to say next, 'The blacks want to take our guns from us'? Might as well since they're both the same in spirit. People already think gun owners are inbred hicks so try not to add too much credibility to their broad generalization, would ya?

I utilized the term 'nancy' to describe the guy being the opposite of manly or masculine behavior, someone afraid of what they don't know. Ever heard the term 'negative nancy?'

I think some states, like New York (where this was broadcast from), require some form of registration for handguns.
