Those of you who shop WalMart will find this story amusing........
Friday night, WalMart
I wait at sporting goods counter for help 5 min. The guy stocking automotive attempts to page someone for help.....no show after an additional 10 min. OK, maybe better luck Saturday. So I left
Saturday, 11:00 am
Still no one at the counter ( same guy is stocking auto parts).
I wait 5 then pick up the phone behind the counter and dial 0.
"Operator"
ME: Yes this is a customer at the sporting goods counter and I need someone to unlock the case.
O: ok I'll page someone.
"page"
10 minutes later, no show.
I pick up the receiver again and notice the directory listing on back. I call the extensions of the manager,security,customer service, reigonal manager, training. NO ANSWER ANYWHERE.
I call the operator again.
"Operator"
ME: Look I've been waiting here for 20 minutes now and.............
O:Ok, I page a manager
THIS HAS BECOME A BATTLE OF WILLS AND A MATTER OF PRINCIPAL AT THIS POINT.
30 minutes into it now.
I dial 0 again.
"Operator"
ME: look, I've been waiting here for 30 minutes and if you don't get someone over here I'm going to find the intercom button and start paging on my own.
O: ok sir.
Page: Jimmy in hardware please go to sporting goods"
THE GUY WAS IN THE NEXT DEPARTMENT!!!!
I got my 1 box I came for but had to take it to the front because sporting register had no $
Self checkout.......I scan all items purchased and exit (finally)
THE SILVER LINING......Ammo does not scan at the front registers!!!!!
I only wish I had "rung out more boxes for my trouble.
