I seriously don't know what is wrong with kids these days.

My brother and I met up with an old high school friend last night at a 7-11 to catch up on life. We are waiting for the clerk to check us out and this skinny little hispanic punk who was maybe 16 years old walks up to me and says "hey man, can you buy me a bottle?" I look at him dead in the eyes and say "absolutely not." He walks to the door where his friends are (about 15 feet away) and yells "well F*$K you then!" and his buddy yells "F*$K YOU!" as well.

I'm not even going to count the laundry list of offenses that purchasing alcohol for a minor might cost me in the event of something going wrong, but what the hell is wrong with kids these days? YOU asked me to do something illegal, I told you no, just walk away. My goodness... my brother and I would have physically DEMOLISHED these kids if we would have so chosen that route, but luckily for them, we are tax-paying, law abiding citizens who actually have to answer for our actions and have families we need to take care of, so I wasn't about to beat some high schooler's face in the night before Fathers Day.

I just needed to get that off of my chest.

I actually seriously mulled that idea over... looking back I should have. I was just so furious I had to take all of my energy to keep myself from not stomping their faces in.

They left shortly after that. I think me staring them down for about 5 minutes made them think they should probably leave before I stepped out of the store.

I read the original post and guessed your location was Aurora before looking. I was right, what do I win?

This would have been a great response.

Just say "Well son, I am Off Duty, any here have an objection?"

Impersonating?

Maybem but you might make him think twice!

That was my first though ... saying something along the lines of "Do you make it a habit of asking off duty cops to buy you booze?"

"Off duty" what? I like it.

The hitchers that thumb as you approach and flip you off when you pass always make me laugh.

I can't believe they had the ballz to ask you inside the store standing in line. I have had this happen to me many times, I just laugh and say sorry little man. Not sure if I could have restrained myself if they were ever that disrespectful when I tell them NO.

I was in there after you left, the kid came in and said this.
"Um,

yeah.

Lemme have, okay yeah, lemme have a Three

Musketeers, and a ballpoint pen, one of those

combs there, a pint of Old Harper, a couple of

flashlight batteries, and some beef jerky."

Think of it this way.
You turned him down so hard that he felt embarrassed and his manhood was put in question in front of fellow puntos to the extent that he felt he HAD to respond. In so many words, you made his feel like a nancy.
*clap*

I can't tell you how many times I've been there, done that as well... I even have some of my friends younger under 21 siblings text me and ask them to buy them booze... Look, me and your older sibling are good friends, and I know you'd appreciate the favor, but I have too much to lose if I get caught buying alcohol for minors... Not to mention, do it once and they'll think you'll do it all the time and bother you on a weekly basis, talk about double ouch!

Are you sure he was Hispanic? I am pretty sure he wasn't from Hispania...

I'm guessing the punk was Mexican.
