If I wanted to, can I legally own a human skull that was donated to science or whatever.
I am watching NatGeo TABOO show on death and just curious if it was legal to own a human skull that is just bone and bleached??

Yeah it is. I've got an old school one that came from an antique store in Switzerland. It was used at a med school in the 19th century.

They're so awesome. If I get a truck, I'd mount one on the base of antenna. As far as cost goes, they're like $700-1500 for fair to excellent ones.

I want a giant skull to make a helmet out of. That would be sick.

Im morbid that way. I have always wanted one. When I was about 11 or 12,
a neighbor took his own life with a shotgun, I could see the sceen from my window
into the room he did it with and I wasnt grossed out. I didnt witness the act, but the aftermath.
I gave assistance until medics got there for a guy who had his hand ripped off
and I picked his hand up and put it in a bag that went in a cooler on ice.
I have cut myself to the bone and could see the bone, I almost touched the bone
just to say I have touched my own bone.

So I guess watching TABOO, it renewed the desire to own a human skull.

Ha, just a skull? Hell, my Dad has an entire human skeleton in his closet!

Okay okay, its not in the closet its in our basement. But its a 100% genuine human skeleton. And he has it because he is a doctor, but that's beside the point.

He used to dress it up for halloween and put it behind the front door, so when the door opened, it had a cape on, a pair of bloodshot bug eyes made from a ping pong ball cut in half put into the eye sockets, and a huge knife going through the ribcage into a "stress relief" foam heart in the correct position. Kids always thought it was cool until they were told it was real!

Has he named his skeleton?

Not that I'm aware of. I know that he's had it since med school so i'm sure it was used in pranks or something. I wish i knew the history of it, would be interesting to know where it came from or what the person died from.

I'm thinking you could probably mount one to the hood of your sedan-deville. At night time you could make it so the eyes light up when you turn on your head lights. Now that would be really badace. lol

Personally i would never own or want one.
