View Full Version : Is American Eagle Reman?
I picked up a couple boxes of the American Eagle 5.56/.223 ammo (black box) from Wally World the other day. Upon unboxing, I noticed what appears to be ejection dings in the cases. There isn't any markings on the box indicating reload or reman. Is this stuff already reloaded?

is the brass lake city??? LC 09 or similar?
It wasn't LC brass. Forgot exactly what the headstamp showed. Will check in an hour or so.
All cases are stamped "FC 223 REM". Out of 10 rounds I looked at, 4 had dings. The brass also has rub marks like it went through a sizing die.

Fed AE is new manufacture, not factory reloads, but it's the Federal bargain brand, and kinda weak and inconsistent compared to many factory loads.

AE is new ammo.
Well, that's good to know (not that it matters much, its just plinking ammo). Its just weird with the dings.

I had heard American Eagle was military contract reject. Sounds even more likely now.

Its not military contract reject if it has "FC 223 REM" headstamp, that's a commercial headstamp.
