View Full Version : I have the worst power in the state
I swear... we moved here 14 months ago, we have had 4-5 blackouts, that are all 6-8 hours long. I'm in black right now.
Yes, I own a computer engineering company, so I have huge batteries on my computers. Not a big deal. Big problem, is my burglar alarm keeps getting set off.
Damn power company/city.

Are you on Excel?
Yes, Xcel is the electron distributor for me.
SUE THEM!!!!!
no don't really do that...that will just make everyone else's rates go up.
I'm in Westminster and have had I think one sustained power outage over the last three years. Are you in an apartment complex by any chance? One time we had the power go out on only one or two circuits. Our neighbor said that has happened before and it would come back on after a while. It was weird for sure.

That is very poor performance based on what I have seen in the metro area. Is it your house, your block, or a larger area? have any details on what the problem is?

Man, not to rub it in, but I live in a fairly remote area in the mountains and have maybe 1 or 2 outages a year and they have been very short.
Even during the 7' blizzard 10 years ago I never lost power or phone service. United Power rocks!
It's a house. It seems to be my little subdivision that goes out, along with the lights on the main street outside our neighborhood. Seems to be in the summer, late evenings. I wonder if the transmission line or transformer isn't big enough for all of the air conditioners around.
I assume the bill is paid. I work up this mironing and the power is on. My wife always sends Xcel their money, so I'm sure they are paid up.

7 years here and the only time I start my generator is twice a year to make sure it still works. Haven't lost a single second of power since I moved in.

I have the same problem, and I have Comcast! WTF? It seems I have to shut off the wifi 2x a day and reset the modem 3x... I feel like I'm not getting what I'm paying out the ear for! [Bang]

No excuse for that kind of performance (they just don't want to pay to fix the problem) I would call Excel service and tell them it's time for them to fix the root problem, there's always the PUC.
I think having to reset is the neteork issue.
