View Full Version : Glock to sell 30,000 pistols to Iran. WFT???
In the wake of the uproar over the sale of Steyr .50 caliber rifles to Iran, imagine that Glock (last week) just inked a deal to sell 30,000 pistols . . . to the very same Iranian agency that bought the Steyr rifles!

From the article:
VIENNA, Austria: Austrian authorities have approved the export of 30,000 handguns to Iran, local media reported Friday, days after a report that sophisticated Austrian rifles were finding their way into the hands of Iraqi insurgents.
Austrian media reported the pistols had been sold to Iran's interior ministry, which is in charge of the police force.
Austrian economic ministry officials told state radio that their ministry had approved the sale of the "Glock" pistols last month, saying Iranian authorities had provided documentary evidence that they would not be passed on to others.

The link to the article is not working. Has this been confirmed? I did a quick Google search and only turned up other forums. If we can confirm this we need to contact them and oppose it. If it does turn out to be true, I will be selling my Glock.
shall we write a letter to glock? I'll be writing a nasty gram to steyr.

I was not able to find an email address for Glock USA. I woule like to confirm the rumor before writing them a letter. As for Styer, they can kiss my @$$. If Glock is going to sell to Iran, then they can kiss my @$$ too. I just want confirmation, first.

They will still be used by the insurgents that are in the Iraqi Army, but at least they won't be blatant about it.
I will keep my Glock for now.
The G-19 was the issue sidearm for the New Iraqi Army when I was over there in 2005-06.

Media fact checking at it's very finest.
Why check the facts when the article promotes your agenda?
Who here thinks that these Glocks won't wind up in the hands of the BGs?

I wonder if some here know that we were paying royalities to mauser while were were at war with germany?
Global trade is a weird thing.
I would rather they didn't sell to Iran, but I will not boycott if they do.
You won't boycott? Glock, Steyr. I mean they must be the worst individuals in the world. Havn't you heard?
Cummon people, get over it. Should they have done it? Probably not but they sold to Iran and the legitimate Iraq government, not directly to the insurgents or directly to terrorists. And a company cannot be held accountable for what the buyer does with the weapons.
What of the companies that make the AKs. Which of them are providing rifles to the BGs? We don't ever hear anything about that.
I don't know if these are Glocks, but this is how hand guns are used in the "sand box"
