Hoser HELP! My house may burn down. If you wouldn't mind on your next run do a fly by of West st and US 24 in Woodland Park and drop some slurry on the house with a red roof and falling down fence.
In all seriousness I would like to thank all that are fighting the fire and trying there best to save our community.

No its ok. I got the guns and ammo out already. So don't even try to "recover" anything from my house[Tooth]
I was just giving my thanks to the guys and gals fighting this titan of fire.

Thanks for the update. I guess I can cross your house off my "Pillage and Plunder" list.
Hey man Prayers sent to save your home! If you need anything just ask!
Bobby, not sure if you saw the press conference this morning, but the CSFD fire chief said "We're not on the defensive, we're attacking this fire and trying to save as many homes as possible!" I hope they're able to stave off disaster from your home... stay safe out there.
My thoughts and prayers are with all the people affected by this fire and also with those awesome folks local, state, and federal that are helping to battle this blaze. I hope they get some much needed rain!

good for them
but that's bullshit
last night, they backed off and they did the right thing, when the wind kicks and it's that dry, there's not a damn thing they can do but get out of the way.
until it starts raining, they won't get this (or any of them) out.

I think he was talking about the strategy for today. They finished up talking about the last 24hrs and he said this when they were speaking about the plan for today. Like my dad keeps saying (retired firefighter, and Incident Commander with the JCIMT) the only real way you can really get a fire laid down and put out is with the help of the weather [rain/snow].

I'm in line first with Hoser. My roof says "Go Air Force, Beat Army" in 5' tall letters. Should be hard to miss.

Thanks for the offer Jim. We're packed up and on pre-evac notice. Two families who were evacuated are in with us now. It's cozy.
I spent four solid days on fire mitigation here. Short of digging a most and filling it with ice cubes, I've done everything I could. It just rained here, so maybe we will catch a break.

I been staring out my window all day and no sign of a c130 over by me. I have seen a bunch of the helicopter bucket brigade. Those guys are doing a pretty good job.
I wonder if I put up a sign that says free beer for slurry bomb if they will swing on by

Times like this make you start shopping for a Bobcat with some creative attachments [Flower]
I'll keep praying for water and maybe a some light flurries for all of Colorado.
Be safe.

Two of our NRA media teammates spent some time on the flight line Wednesday at Petersen with the C130 crews from COS and Wyoming. Got to interview the crews and take shots of them and their equipment. Fascinating stuff, great pics, and they were very open with us. Kudos to all those on the crew!
DVIDS has some good video from the cockpit of one of the C130s posted: http://www.dvidshub.net/video/148130/colorado-wildfires-aerial-firefighting#.T-3To47R2DU

Dunno, but you'd probably see your house on the evening news.

I think that's Hoser sitting in the chair in the back of that C-130.
