It's for the .45's...

I've watched and watched different stuff on youtube about them and both have their differences.

Both have interchangeable pistons for different threaded barrels, but one can be removed without a tool.

The Osprey has the cool look factor.

I believe you can "wet-can" both of'em.

between the 2 I've seen on youtube both the AAC and Osprey come undone/loose putting several rounds down.

... anyone have any experience or opinions with these suppressors? Please share...

Every time i mention this I get flamed, but I know from a reputable source (the firm contracted to try and correct this manufacturing issue) that there is a serious flaw in the Ospreys that results in baffle strikes. Silencerco is better than most about fixing it, but it's still hassle.

The AAC Titan is a .338LM can, by the way. You wouldn't want to shoot .45 through it. I think you're talking about the TiRANT. I really want a TiRANT 9S, I would get the TiRANT 45S if it were me. It's stupid short, light AND it's user serviceable. Really a no brainer. If you want the maximum performance, get the full length, but personally suppressed .22LR has spoiled me so weight/length/performance/price is what I look at in a can.

I have an AAC ECO9 which I have been very happy with, especially the price tag, and it is currently at Stalking Rhino getting jailbroken. So I have a 1st generation EVO9 that is user serviceable for the same price as a current generation EVO9.

They are both great cans. Tops in the industry buy post peoples standards. The sound differences as far as db is nominal. Different hosts will make one louder than the other. The TiRant can be cleaned at home which makes it a true do all can. You can use lead bullets if you are so inclined. That means you can even use it on a .22 host. The Osprey allows use of the factory sights on most hosts, but is only factory serviceable. As far as the baffle issue, this is the first I have heard of that. I actually went with the Osprey myself due to the fact that I should be able to use it on more hosts without sight interference. This question is asked a lot on other forums and I have seen both companies praise each others product. You can't go wrong with either can. Good luck Check out silencer research.com there is sound testing info there.

My bad... It is the Ti-rant that I wanted to talk about. [Bang]

Thank you guys for the awesome feedback on this... [Beer]

It looks like the AAC Ti-rant is what I'll be ordering soon...

I do like the idea of being able to service the piece at home and being able to change out pistons for a different host.

I've seen on Youtube that both of'em can come loose while putting rounds through them... any remedies for that?

Keep a glove handy. Bout all I know to do. Tighten it up as needed.
I really considered the TiRant as well because of the user serviceability. I chose the Osprey for the fitment on the hosts I will be using it on. I also talked to the owner I believe it was at SilencerCo and was impressed with his willingness to answer my questions. That was pretty cool in my book. Both are great cans. I'm sure you will like it.

You could try a heat resistant oring (like the type inside suppressors) on the threaded barrel. There isn't really anything else other than tightening it.

copy that...

I guess we'll just see... Just gotta keep an eye on it while rounds are being thrown down range.

I think AAC's have o-rings in their pistons that will help keep the suppressor on the host... I could be wrong.. I've been watching to many damn youtube vids on this subject [Coffee]

My ECO comes loose on my Glock, it has an oring at the end of the threads on the inside of the piston but I think that's just for sealing the end of the barrel against the threads.

... it would be neat if AAC could come up with a 51T system for pistols [Tooth]

Your right about that... but no QD systems for pistols...

Man an Osprey was going to be my first NFA item! That's a shame to hear.

Just search "Osprey baffle strike" on Google.

I'm still planning on getting a Sparrow, but yeah. The Osprey is a cool can.

I did and you are correct. However it seems that SilencerCo has been good about fixing the issues.

I mentioned that too. However, I don't really want to wait 6+ months for a can and have to send it right back. Plus the tirants are disassembleable now.
