... for the "lil b*tch"/Krinkov

I gave the ATF a call a few minutes ago, and this is what I got.
Check got cashed late February... and the latest to get it would be September...

not much of a rant... but dang?! Why the long wait time?

Oh well, September it is :D

I thought 3 months was bad when I got mine. More people have figured out it isn't as hard to do as they thought I guess.

I don't want to hear it, I'm waiting on 3 stamps. It's a waiting game for sure. My 1st was 3 months to the day, 2nd-5th should be around 6 months. That is, if your paperwork is right. [Flower]

I thought the wait times were excessive back when I did my stamp collecting but it was nothing like what I read about now. I'd likely have lost interest in the item by the time approval occurred!

cool video thanks for sharing i think the cool thing they mentioned was the beta testing of e-forums which would only be used for NFA trusts that don't require photos and or fingerprint cards. what that says is all the rumors about doing away with trusts doesn't seem logical based on this information and news. looks like they want to do away with the sign off, but still require fingerprint cards and passport photos for individual. and create e-forums for trust related transfers. not bad hopefully this get push along in the near future. some added incentive to create a trust it look like now for the future.

DOJ wide hiring freeze my white ass. I know 8 people who have been hired in the last 6 -12 months. There was never a freeze, you just had to fill out 1 more piece of paper to `justify` the freeze.

The reason why it takes so long is because they want it to take as long as possible.

Just because they were hired does not mean that branch had positions filled. The state's hiring too, doesn't mean my specific classification has any openings.
BTW: Every time some of you [islandermyk, HINT] call to inquire, i have no doubt your app slips 1 or 2 down the pile.

When you do let them know, You know a guy and wanted to get an idea where he (Me) was in relation to your approval time.
I called a guy i know in another branch, Hey would you check on some paperwork i sent in on jan x. He said the examiner told him, when we get to it, we get to it.Hurry up and wait.

The most frustrating thing about the NFA process to me is that you have to go through it every time. I could understand a longer wait on your first NFA item, after that it should really only be a felony check and you get your item.

About 5 years ago i was approved within 60 days, a follow up form was sent in withing the same time period as first one. After 70 days i called regarding status, the examiner said it's going to take awhile since we need to complete the BG check. I informed him i was approved on X date and here was the stamp #, as it was less than 60 days since approval #1. He said if that's the case, pulling up my info, you are approved!. Had that one back to me within the week.
They are kind of sketchy with the approval process.
The up side of the wait is to look at how many gun owners nationwide are buying NFA items. I think the NFA crowd is equal if not surpassed regular Class 1 guns.
What a country.

I went pending January 9th on a form 4 through an LLC for an AAC SDN6. I was able to pick it up June 29th but I think it sat at the dealer for a week before I got my hands on it. My last stamp for an sbr lower sometime last year was roughly a one month shorter wait. I just purchased an SS Sparrow so I'm praying the wait is slowly decreasing. Four months is very doable, six to seven months is very painful.

I sure hope the temp help does speed up the process. I waited 67 days for the dealer to dealer transfer. Just showed up today. Papers will go to ATF in the morning. Dealer told me to expect the same for my Osprey. Both were in stock too. At least I got to fondle my new can for a while. Now the long wait for my first tax stamp. How very excitingly depressing.

Wait time is 7-8 months, called today 10am MDT.
I am approved for one of my Form 4's, approval was end of june. I asked where my paperwork was, as it has not been received on my end. Agent said they have 30 days from approval to mail out time.

BTW: I told them i was Islandermyk from the CO-AR15 boards and those bitches better get their act together. Damon said absolutely Mr, Myk we'll make sure your paperwork is green lighted. :)

Yep, here in weld cty you drop paperwork off monday and tuesday morning you pick it up.
Not really concerned about a trust as all NFA items can be transferred to the spouse on a Form 5 when i keel over.

True, I went the trust route cause I'm young and am not married. Becuase I'm young I'm not sure where I might be in 5 years maybe in a county where there is a sherrif that wont sign figured it was a wise expense for the future! Hopfully you don't have much longer to wait!

Not really concerned. Laid up with another surgery has me going stir crazy, so i wander out (with surgeon approved) walker to the shop and screw around with a few re-loaders i have. I have enough suppressors to sate the appetite until next approval.

That works, hope you heal quickly from your Surgery! have had one as young as i am on my knee not fun. will most likely pay for it in the future. well at least there is hope for some of you others waiting if mine took 5 and come change months to get approved shows some improvement of the wait times hopefully![Coffee]

Sitting here looking at a few toys, debating which ones to Form 1. I want to do a 11" SBR for the ol lady but she bitchin, LEAVE MY GUNS ALONE.

2 stamps on to a firearm? 1 is a given for any can. The other is for a SBR,, AOW, SBS, UNLESS you have that magical SOT ffl and then it's a dealer sample. OR pockets deep enough for a happy switch unit.
Only 1 stamp per item, if not you have negated the stamp. When i do this SBS i need to send in my F$ (AOW) so they can amend and remove the AOW designation.
