Gearing up to buy my first AR. I think I have it narrowed down to the LMT CQB 16 or the Noveske Recce FSR. Just wanted to see if anyone had any opinions as to which would be a better choice. Or if I am way off and there should be something else thrown into the mix. Thanks all.

No issues with my recently purchased LMT's here.

Wow, you're going all out for your first AR. Two great choices, have you handled both?

Noveske and never look back.

LMT does NOT suck. I'm sure you'd be happy with either

Add BCM to the mix...

Add KAC to the mix. Mine has never thrown up and is VERY light.

Either of those are fantastic guns however. FWIW my next rifle will probably be a Noveske (As LaRue will never make enough PredatOBR's).

I have handled, not shot, both and they both felt good. I think I am leaning towards LMT. Will be a little cheaper than the Noveske and almost as good.

I wil certainly check the other suggestions as well. Thanks for all the input!

Of course, consider spending about a grand less, maybe going with a Daniel Defense or something that level, and splurging the difference into some really sweet optics.

Both are great. The barrels Noveske uses are always hammers for me.

My Noveske N4 light carbine 14.5" is a tack driver for a short barrel AR. 1/7 will stabilize anything I run down the pipe. However, I got a smokin deal used (<300rds) on AR15.com and didn't buy spankin new.

LMT, Noveske, and Knights Armament are all top notch. I say witch ever one feels right in your hands and the price.

I have an LMT and it will NOT shoot tula or wolf. The casings stick in the chamber after being fired. I have tried different buffers and springs with the same result. This is not a problem for me because I do not like shooting that ammo anyway. Shoots flawlessly with any brass cased ammo I feed it.

My vote goes to the Daniel Defense. Not inexpensive but not in the stratosphere like the other two brands can be.

That is what I went with. Definitely a bitchin' rifle.

Mine hates steel cased ammunition. But I still love her, to show her my love,I installed a Grissele 3gun trigger on her. She likes that baby!

LMT, BCM, DD or Noveske are all good choices. It should come down to price, availability and configuration.

I don't like the WC AR's, won't feel steel cased, seen castle nuts not staked, same with gas keys.

I'm thinking they should stick to 1911's

BCM should be your first choice... but if it has to be LMT or Noveske then go over to tacticalyellowvisor and look at the big giant spreadsheet.

I would take a Noveske over BCM because they manufacture more of their own parts and have top notch QC. That said you could get a Daniel Defense as previously mentioned and still have cash left for ammo and still have a top notch rifle with a customer service department which is a phone call away.

Addiction is about right. I keep telling myself I'm not, but... You all know better. [AR15]
