It makes me furious that these MF cause me to cancel a CC# due to fraud every 18-24 months. [Bang] I SHOULDA called Best Buy pretending to be the purchaser so I could find these dingleberry lowlifes. Last time this happened, I was >< that close to getting an address out of the CSR at some shopping channel when she realized WTF was going on. I hope Amex finds and prosecutes the slime.

Now, due to the holiday, I'll have to wait until Thursday to get a replacement card activated.

/Rant off.

My credit card company called me a few years back and asked about some suspicious purchases. I said it wasn't me, then asked where the stuff was being sent to. She gave me the address right away, was about two blocks over.

I paid them a visit one night.

Out of curiosity, have you reformatted your hard drive since your card(s) fell victim to fraud? If not, you might have a keylogger on your machine recording all of your keystrokes. Do you do file sharing? If so, I'd consider torrents instead of P2P stuff (before people say hurr durr piracy, I've used torrents for getting Linux distros and game mods). You also might be getting it through email or sites.

yeah, i agree
plus you need to cancel ALL your credit cards.
My wife had this problem and once we changed out ALL the cards it stopped.

My main debit card gets cancelled at least 2-3 times per year and it was getting very annoying since I have so many auto pays on it. I called the bank to find out why and they told me that my card had not been compromised but that I had used the card somewhere that had been and they automatically cancel all cards that have made purchases at that place just to be safe. When Best Buy got hacked last year I got a new card, and once I understood why I am 100% fine with it now, but it's a pain in the butt.

Negative ghostrider, ain't gonna happen. I have several layers of security in place on a corporate laptop and am not concerned about this. No bitorrent or p2p here.

That ain't gonna happen either. Isolated incident, most likely the number lifted by some sleazeball clerk/waitress during a prior transaction. I travel a lot and use the card (Amex) almost exclusively so while I'm pissed off, I understand the risks. My debit card is used only at bank ATMs'. I use my bank Visa CC any time Amex isn't accepted. I'm pretty sure it got lifted when I was in Jersey in May. Amex has always stood 100% behind me for any questionable issues.
