I have a chance to get a mint Springfield Champion Lightweight Operator for a screaming deal. Anyone have one? What do you think?

I have had one.
Hammer follow issues from the very start.
Sent it to Springfield.
Came back with hammer follow...
Sent it again.
They refused to aknowledge the issue.
After several tense phone calls I was able to get them to change sear and hammer.
When it came back I did not even try to fire it.
I got rid of it.
Extractor was sticking out of the back of the slide.
A lot.
Poor craftmanship.
Frame made in Brazil-like Taurus.
Internals are MIM-like Taurus.
Over $900 for the LWO.
About $550 for a Taurus.
Got me a Taurus.
I know a guy that has one for sale. He's on this site, but I can't remember his screen name. I'll give him a call and let him know you are looking for one. I know its a light weight champion not sure about the operator.
I had one, ran perfect, traded it and regret it. Looking for another one. If you can get it at a good price buy it try it, dont like it, PM me and Ill take it from you. You'll probably like it though! I had a shark skin holster just show up that I had ordered over a year ago just show up, now I need a pistol for it.

I have a Lightweight Champion Operator, love it! Took about 300-400 rounds to wear in properly, had some failures to feed until that happened, but it's been running great. Took the Mean Streets Tactical defensive handgun course with it last month, fired 300 rounds and it didn't miss a beat. I paid $725 for mine, very gently used. If you can get it for about that much, grab it.

I realize this thread is borderline "old", and probably will not help the OP by now, but I know somebody in the future will do a search, and another opinion couldn't hurt. My GF bought me a Champion operator at the beginning of the year. I cleaned it, took it out to the range, and put 100 rounds of Remington hollow points through it, with zero issues. Haven't even ran ball through it yet, but I was quite impressed with the fact that it ate hollow points out of the box. I planned on carrying the pistol, so reliability with HP's was mandatory. Accuracy was excellent, I was hitting 6" steel at about 20 yards, and hit a couple gallon jugs out at 75 yards. I've been carrying it ever since. This is my 4th Springer 1911, and the only one I ever had issues with, was a GI Champion, which fixed itself after a few hundred rounds of ball. The other two were loaded 5" models, one used and one I bought new, no issues with either of them. Only issue I have with my Operator, is the factory holster that scuffed the front of the slide, I should have known better than to use the holster, but the scuff is now pretty much gone, after some buffing.
