Well Remsport had some forged CS commander frames on sale for $185 and I just couldn't resist. Got the frame in and the frame parts on the way.

Now I'm torn on the slide. I can't decide between commander or officer slide. Really want officer length for ccw per the original plan for the frame but seems there's more options out there for the commander stuff. Doesn't look like barrel bushings are a popular option for the officer stuff and don't want to go the bull barrel/reverse plug route.

Is the commander the 4'' barrel and the officier the 3''? What is the best place you have found to get 1911 parts? I am getting the urge to start a 1911 build myself.

There is not a whole lot of difference in concealability between an officer length slide and a commander length slide. The real difference is the grip length.

Already got those covered could use a bobtail jig though. Starting to lean more towards the commander.

Just waiting on front sight. Ran about 30-40 rounds through it yesterday no ftf or fte but was getting brass thrown back in my face, found the extractor way to loose, could of sworn I set that thing. Tightened it up and gonna retest tomorrow.
