View Full Version : Casino Carry, Blackhawk?
Hi
Anyone notice any no CCW signs at any of the casinos in Blackhawk?

Never noticed one. Honestly though, unless I notice a metal detector, it doesn't matter.

Fact: The police will take it upon themselves to "hold" your CCW if they find that you are carrying. I'm not going to discuss legality here.
Didn't see any signs at the Golden Mardi Gras

Is there a story here?
I always carry while in there. I imagine they'd kick you out if they knew.

There is a story there but a phone call to the police dept will get you a more accurate answer.

Others have said; "Why go somewhere your not wanted?" if they don't respect your right then why give them your $$$??
It just gives them more $$ to fight ya!
Firearms are prohibited in the casinos in Blackhawk. I spoke with a representative recently regarding the issue. His response was, "No firearms are allowed in the casinos...however concealed means concealed." He obviously was a supporter of the right, but had to spew the casinos BS policy first. +1 for a good guy, but I suppose it would be rather uncomfortable for someone who was caught with a CCW by casino personnel/LE. On a side note, there were no signs or postings that I saw that enforced "No firearms", take that as you will.

Don't go to the casinos... They are bad news bears.
Fitzgeralds has it posted, no firearms on the east street entrance.
Not like I can read, or give a shit. Lots of other places to take
your chances... [Coffee]
I was under the impression that if no signs were posted, and there were no metal detectors/guards at the entrance, then the only legal recourse they would have would be to ask you to leave (a business can refuse to serve anyone).
Of course, I'm sure in this case they'd simply let their security/LEO deal with it (and that will be a crap shoot).

I am always drinking in Blackhawk... So no carry there for me.

Unless you are gay. ;)
Kicking someone off your property isn't even really denying service/business.

I've worked in a few casinos in BH. Those properties (and I'd bet all of the others) prohibit firearms even though it wasn't posted.
We would have to call Black Hawk PD so they could be there and check CCW, but we would just pull the person aside, explain our policy, and tell the person to either put the weapon in their car or they will be asked to leave.
Every.person I had to do this with was very nice about it and apologiesed for not knowing the policy. I never saw anyone carrying concealled illegally either.
