The men also sprayed repellent at a group of 10 to 15 people standing front of a nearby fraternity house in the same block but police said the wind shifted and blew the cloud of bear repellent back toward them.
The two men were overcome and crashed their scooter, according to police.
Robert McManus was arrested for investigation of a second-degree felony assault and first-degree burglary and Stephen Armbruster was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence and accessory to a felony.
