If only I had a bike...
Been doing CrossFit.com for two plus years now and dropped 50lbs of fat and am keeping it off (thanks to KC - he posted the link many, many moons ago). It has made a world of difference hunting elk!
Anyway KC, tell me more about the ride. Where, when, how far, terrain, etc.
Where are you riding? I'm in the Springs. I work for a Mtb Suspension Company......

Me and a couple buddies go every Monday eve (starting in a few weeks) at 6ish (pm) we meet at one of the Denver foothill trails. Let me know if you want me to drop you a line to let you know where we're meeting (when we do).
sure, I'd like to know where/when.. might even be able to go direct from work (Golden)

Glad to see you are keeping up with it! I assume that you like it beings you have been doing it for 2 years now huh.
I go back and forth between crossfit and a regular split routine. I always find myself leaning more towards crossfit though. Its fun to me.
The ride depends on who is going skill level etc... Last year we did a pretty easy one. Only 2 or three technical spots, nice big hill climb then rolling hills from there. Only 7idl, MP5 and myself went. Would like to see a better turn out this year.

Yea I may be in for it, I am in a little better shape than last year.
Today is my brithday, my last one in my 20's  . By the time I am 30 I want to be able to mop the trail with 7idl  .

I am in Dallas right now, not much mountain biking. However, I forgot how many hot a$$ chicks there are here. I will see if I can bring some of them back to Colorado. There seems to be a shortage of hippies here so you guys should go round some up and hopefully we can make some sort of an exchange. [pirate]

That looks like a Prophet. I ride the same rig.
The Woodland Park area has a few good trails, like maybe 25 within 3 miles of my house. Now if the damn snow would just melt (or stop falling) I could get some miles in.
yep, it's an '06 Prophet
keep practicing fellas...

I'm gonna get mine into the shop this weekend for the pre-season tuneup, and I've been riding the stationaries at the gym at school to get my legs at least mildly into shape. Schwinn stationary bikes have awesome resistance settings.
'98 or '99 Giant Iguana SE. I'm all about the hardtail too, although mine has toeclips. Need to delete the bottle cages now that I've got a Camelbak.

Trials riding (both bike and motorcycle) are insane! (in a good way)

I leave mine on for the real long rides that my camel back is not big enough for.
Dang, the trails were just getting dry enough to ride, then another foot of snow. Grrrr.
Melt, damn it, melt!
well my brothers, what's up?
I was out at waterton canyon this morning.. nice ride... till you get to the damn dam.. then the grade increases like a mofo!
surely you girls can make it that far (~6.5mi) (to the dam)
fwiw, on a semi related side note.. I did see several hotties on the trail (road), majority were running/jogging [WooHoo]
So, where we goin' next?
today was a last minute thought at bedtime last night.. need to plan something better.. who's with me?
KC?
MP5?

Ahhhhhh Lets do it. I havent been riding as much as I normally do but I can start hitting the trail hard tomorrow morning.
hotties!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hmmmmm cant wait...
I have been running alot lately not really sure why because I dont really like running but there have been some pretty nice ones on the trail here by my house!!! Makes the workout much more enjoyable.
http://www.singletracks.com/
there's a link so people can get an idea of whats in the area as far as trails go.
I'm thinking that White Ranch looks like a pretty nice ride.
I can't do anything till next weekend though.
I will probably take my daughter up to waterton on sunday though for her first time off the pavement. ;)
eta: C'mon people... summer will be over before we know it!!!!!
The1andOnlyKC

You want to Start White Ranch from the top or the bottom?
Its a good ride either way. Pretty hard (read slope wise not technical) if you start from the bottom.
heck I don't know.
what do you recommend? (I've never been there)
I'm going saturday AM, I've already decided [GaGa]
http://www.trailcentral.com/gps/gps_details.php?key=37
another option:

youze guyz are missin all the fun!
The1andOnlyKC

LOL........[Whacko]
Those are both awesome trails, but both are VERY steep and long climbs. (White Ranch is only this way if you start from the bottom) They are both doable and fun though.
I would perfer to start White Ranch from the bottom only because the downhill at the end is well worth it! Same with Mt. Falcon the downhill is well worth it! ;)
I cant go this saturday because I am pouring some concrete in my back yard for a shed. (Just about called you to come help)
[Abused]
well, I do owe you one.
let me know ;)
The1andOnlyKC
07-05-2007, 08:20
I think I already have more than enough people. I dont think the concrete truck will be able to keep up. But I will let you know.
changed to tomorrow.. (I was up late goofin' off)
anyone?
any ride ?
lemme know!

Where you going what time? I go back to nights so I might make it up tomorrow.
I'm still open. I plan on looking further into this before I go to bed tonight.
so, if anyone has an Idea, speak up!
I just want to get out on my bike.
I'd be up for somehting more dangerous than waterton if there's someone coming along that could call for help [Abused]
ok, this is where I"m going:
3 Sisters / Alderfer Mountain Bike Trail (http://www.singletracks.com/php/trail.php?id=705)
here's a better site:
http://www.trailcentral.com/trail/trail_info.php?trail=106
I plan on being there about 8am if anyone checks in here before I leave the house and wants to join.
If I don't see a reply, well I could be up there at any time :D
thanks to everyone that showed up! (namely, me :D)
It was a great ride, down hill of course was the best part (pretty much, also met a couple womenz, single, mtb riders [Love2]. now if I can only find one that likes me, I'll be set!) [Angel1]
so, you slackers at home should know, girls are doing these trails, so you should be able to also ;)
There was one girl, musta been, oh 25? (hot too, btw) she was kickin that trails @ss. She was with 2 oolder guys which she had to constantly wait on! lol (my kind of woman, If you know of one, send her my way, PLEASE) :)
then, I stopped at REI on the way home. Girl came in with her bike to get a replacement part.. talk about eye candy. [Love1]
dudes, get off your butts and on a bike (It could be good for your heart in several ways) ;)
Time to start making plans for this coming saturday.
any suggestions or am I on my own again..?
summer/excellent bike riding weather will be over before you know it!

Foxtrots story reminds me of a shopping cart ride story I have. Still have no clue what I did for like 3 hours after the crash. Supposedly I went to the grocery store bought everything needed for a backpacking trip we were getting ready for, wrestled with a few friends, shoot I probably had some hot girls number and never knew it. And my friends they wouldnt have told me they would have taken the number called her themselves tell her I wasnt interested and start dating her without ever telling me.
Hmmmmm makes me wonder were one of my friends met his hot wife... it was about that time too....... hmmmmmmm

Hey 7 what did you think of that 3 sisters trail?
That one kinda sounds cool and I have never done it.
3 sisters or Lair O the Bear sound good to me.
3 sisters is ok. a few switchbacks here and there that are a little difficultt to navigate (for me anyway).
the route I went up is a tiny bit steep.. but do-able.
either route is ok with me.. make your pick.. you've got the new pedals to try out and it may be better for you on familliar territory.

alright Lair O the bear it is then. That should give me some practice with them. Next ride if you want we can check out that 3 sisters.
What time Saturday Morning works for you? I can get up early since I will be up early going for a hike on Friday with the SO.
you're going on a hike with the Sherrif's Office? :D
how does 7:30 or 8am at the parking lot sound? I can do earlier too.
