One thing i am seeing in FS ad. There is no mention of LOCAL Sale Only, I'm not driving anywhere. I see FTF listing an area to meet, however noting for wanting to keep local.

I wanted to buy a few items and BUYER says sorry i'm not driving anywhere, EVEN though there was nothing in ad stating so.

It's simple enough to make a review thread with ONLY the posters Screenname, put a -1 and your .02cents in. The profanity is not needed, calling someone out in the thread title is bad form, and then demanding attention by creating another thread only to reference the first thread is a tad overboard. Esp if you're not out any money on the deal.

IMHO a complaint loses a tremendous amount of credibility when one resorts to name calling etc. It doesn't change the circumstances but it really doesn't do a lot to project you above the member in question.

Agreed. I've gotten ahead of myself and given an "I'll take it" regarding a buy or trade before asking all the questions I should've asked (possibly after a beer or five), only to be disappointed when I see what I've agreed to. But that's not the seller's fault, it was on me, and I fulfilled the transaction as agreed without so much as a grumble. There's not too many things that are worth less than a man without honor.

BS. I'll take it is SOLD. Waiting almost 24 hours to "Change my mind" Is lightweight and shows the buyer has no spine.
Perhaps JTR may have gone overboard by bringing it to GD, still does not excuse buyer from their actions.

Absolutely, seeing how there seems to be a lack of pictures included in an ad.
If the item is not as described, i'll snap a pic or two to cover my ass from any pending fall out.

This as well. If its a glock i say "i will take it", anything else needs an inspection.

Agreed. But when I simply gave an unconditional "I'll take it" without any caveat about inspection, it's a promise to buy it, and I'm not gonna renege, even if I should have made it conditional. Now, if an item was misrepresented, that's a different story.

I've been slightly singed twice now on ARFCOM by items not exactly as described. One was a "Mark4" that, while it carried the same SKU (thanks Leupold), turned out to be a Mark3. So those expensive screw in Lumina covers that only fit Mk4 are now sitting on a shelf. Same scope basically, some say maybe even beter glass, so in the end it's not a huge deal. But technically the seller did misrepresent. Being a package deal (scope/rifle) and a good one at that, it was easier to just suck it up and move on.

However, in one case, I consider it my fault for not asking enough questions when there were mixed messages in the description. Only after photos were sent and I had a chance to study them, did I notice something amiss (reticle difference). By then, the seller had already pulled the money out of Paypal and waffled on undoing the deal. In the end it was really my own damn fault for not getting enough info up front before committing so I stuck by my word.

Bottom line is that the seller needs to do their best to accurately describe and post pics, but needs to understand that if they mislead, there could be issues. The buyer needs to do their homework and ask lots of questions if warranted. If you feel you need to make it conditional, then say so and hope the seller agrees. If the seller gets snooty about it, walk away. Simple enough.
