View Full Version : How to find the Date of a firearm and Info?

Hi Folks,

Im completely newbie in C&R, i just start my collection weeks ago and I'm looking for some info or resources to know the dates of the production of my firearms and a little bit of info, Im planning to build a Personal Concrete Safe/Museum and i want to put some info and year of production in a certificate bellow every firearm.

Until now i just have a:

Springfield Armory M1 Garand
Steyr M95
Mauser Siamese
Colt 1911 Military Property

every help is appreciated :-)

General internet searches can be productive and folks here are a wealth of information.
Serial numbers are essential for an accurate search, no need to post the entire number. Leave the last 3-4 digits in X form ex. 5527XXX.
Condition begets value.

Thank you, in other words write in google for example : Colt 1911 12345XXX

well, I'm not lucky, i try it but nothing appear, the serial number of my Colt start No XXXXXX (with the "No")

anyway I'm continue searching.

Here is some info, maybe just a starting point on the Steyr, apparently they are hard to date because of all of the forgery with them
