“President Obama’s offshore charade continues today with the formal announcement of the 2012-2017 leasing plan for the outer continental shelf. With this plan, the administration reinstitutes the 27 year moratorium that was lifted in 2008, and turns its back on potentially enormous energy resources that could provide jobs and energy security for America. For more than three years, the Obama administration has consistently reversed bipartisan efforts to open America’s vast offshore resources for energy development.

The president has cancelled lease sales, delayed others, and imposed a unilateral executive embargo on the oil resources that our most promising public lands could provide. With 98 percent of the U.S. offshore currently unleased for energy exploration, Secretary Salazar has finalized this plan to continue the administration’s war against affordable energy. In the end, Americans will pay more for the energy they need.

Seriously? F*** that guy! When will this energy freeze stop? Are democrats so hell-bent on trying to ruin our economy by making it nearly impossible to afford anything? They don't realize that a rise in fuel costs also leads to a rise in everything else. I don't see the end of America being some foreign invader or some civil war, it will all crumble when gas becomes a luxury and people just stop. [Mad]

Everything they do is for a reason: if there's a "big deal" in the 'headlines', then be on the lookout for what's going on behind the curtain! These aren't the oil supplies you're looking for.

If you read Lindsey Williams then this won't surprise you: it's part of the plan/agenda to create a 'great need' in the future when certain parties can then profit greatly from it!

First, yes, but if a government doesn't allow the practice of off-shore drilling then it's kinda hard for said oil company to get more oil...

The BP oil spill was not one of the "norms" of the oil industry, if you look at their track record you'll see that BP is a very unsafe company and they are responsible for several ecological nightmares. In reality, most oil companies use BP as an example... of what NOT to be. In not so many words, BP sucks. I can say that safely because my mom works in the oil industry (information) and deals with all the big ones, also I have a few friends in the oil business and they all know about BP and refuse to work for that company.

So yes, one company screws up and it puts a black mark (pardon my pun) on the whole industry... if only the general public knew that BP is the exception, not the standard. I guarantee that if any of the major companies other than BP were to have tried what Deepwater Horizon did they wouldn't have had such a catastrophe. YMMV

I mostly agree with you, except on one point... You simply cannot reference transparency when talking about the "fast and furious" administration. [Bang]
