I have been looking up and down for a light mount that won't break the bank. I have a Mossy 500 with an 18.5'' and 5 shot mag tube. Anyone have a similar setup they would like to share or post pictures of? Would ideally like an offset mount with out having to change the foregrip.

Elzetta might have something that would work for you. They're fairly inexpensive as well.

Ya I looked at those but not 100% sure on how they mount up. From what I can tell I won't have enough room between the foregrip and the end of the mag tube.

I have a generic s/gun clamp, somewhere, that allows you to mount a light to the bbl. Easy to set up and use.

This one mounts on the mag tube for $20. http://www.amazon.com/Laserlyte-Shotgun-Rail-Mount-Exte/dp/B0041FPG40

Saw that but I went ahead and ordered an Elzetta one just because it gave me exact dimensions of how much mounting room I needed.

Just got it yesterday and put it on last night. First thoughts it is very well designed and seems very sturdy and well built. Holds my Surefire G2X Tac light very well. I will post pictures later tonight after I install the rest of the stuff I got today in the mail.

I left the forearm alone. I don't plan on putting any kind of grip or other accessories on it besides what is listed below. The purpose of my shottie was just to have a way to easily carry it, have a light to identify a possible threat, and have a way to store/carry enough rounds to fill the mag tube should I empty it all the way.

Mossberg 500:

Cut 26'' vented bbl to 19'' (thanks Tinelement! [Beer])
Fiber optic front sight
Fixed stock (synthetic from Mossberg)
5 shot mag tube
TacStar 6-shot side saddle
Uncle mikes sling adapters
Rifle sling I had laying around
Elzetta light mount
Surefire G2X Tac-light

I will post some pictures when it is 100% done. I thought the side saddle was going to be delivered yesterday but mixed up packages. So it should be here tomorrow.

Everything went together well accept the side saddle. I had to trim off about 2'' of the fore-end because it was to long and with the side saddle it would not let the shotgun cycle. Other than that everything went together very nicely.

Looks good. How easy is it to press the switch with your hand on the forearm? I think I'm gunna pick one up.

It is very easy. I am left handed (hence my user name) so naturally my thumb is right next to the switch. Spend the little extra money and get this one. It is well worth it.

Thought I would update this since I was browsing through the other shotgun threads.

Everything worked well. Nothing fell off or came loose in the 100 mixed rounds of birdshot, slugs, and 00 buck. Before going out I did notice the front sight was moving slowly from taking it in out and of the truck so I put a few drops of super glue on it to hold it in place. Side saddle kept all the shells and the light mount did not come loose. I am very happy the way this turned out and performed.
