View Full Version : Denver area and NFA weapons
So i have a job opportunity in my choice of the aurora/Parket area, Broomfield/Langmont, or egger Loveland/Cheyenne areas. Will any of them sign off on me moving to these areas with my NFA stuff i already own?
Parker (Douglas County) is out. Which is too bad since it's the best place to live. Weaver (Douglas Sheriff) will be gone in Jan due to term limits if you can wait that long.
You only need a signature* to buy NFA items, so since you're specifically asking about stuff you already own, there's no need for anyone's signature (a reason the whole signature thing is incredibly stupid).
When you move, send in a 5320-20 (http://www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-5320-20.pdf) (up to 3 NFA items per form), mark "No" to question 2 and you're done.
Yhea I know it says "Transport Interstate" but if you move, they like to know :(
O2
*If you're doing a individual transfer. Trusts, etc. require no signature (another reason the whole signature thing is incredibly stupid).

This. There is no need to have something you already own be signed off again
Longmont, loveland are in counties that are NFA friendly. Cheyo is a bit of a drive unless you have something set up living wise. BTW: Cheyo is not that cheap. Up side is no state income tax and NFA friendly.
Ok I thought the CLEO had to be notified and agree to it.

Not at all. You have been approved, by a Federal Agency, and just need to submit correct paperwork to the ATF[E].
It is none of any LE's business what you own or carry. The only item a sheriff needs to know is application for CCW.
So do I need to reapply for a CCW if I move to a new county?

NO you keep the same permit but tape a change of addy on it. The best way to maintain legality is,.............................Call the sheriffs dept of the county you will be moving to. Most web sites for each county have this info on the site.
REMEMBER do not discuss NFA items with anyone from any dept at all. Unless you feel chatty and need a new BFF
