Just when you thought Obama couldn't say anything more outrageous he reaches into his socialist/Marxist bag of tricks and comes up with something even more disturbing:
“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen,” he said. “The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.”

He took a true statement, and made it disgusting.

Yeah, that's a perverted view of the help that we all need to be successful.

No, it is a very condescending statement and view.
Plenty of business's have been built from the ground up with nothing more than perserverence and hard work.
He sure is doing a helluva a job insulting just about everybody he can.
Too bad the majority are too Kumdrunk from his FlavorAid or too ignorant to see it.

Nobody, and I mean nobody helped me to get to where I am. For better or for worse, I am where I am because of my own doing.
This guy really needs to be gone!
Careful not to be offended by the suggestion that people build businesses with help, because they absolutely do. Many people have done everything their whole lives without help, but they'd probably be even better off if had help from others. Also, don't confuse "help" with "handout" because they are two different things. Lots of people get "help" from this site, but it is almost never a "handout." Any type of business relationship is "help" but since it is mutually beneficial, it is not a "handout."

Everything I've ever had and ever will have is due to the government and, specifically, Obama:
high taxes
TSA
eroding personal freedoms
eroding personal property rights
etc...
Now, before some of you get all pissy, I know it's not all due to Obama. I just figured if he wants credit for doing everything, I'll oblige him.

He specifically alluded to the infrastructure built by the government and many other things provided by the government (like public school teachers, etc...) as a result of taxes that only 1/2 of the people pay. Everything the government has it took from the people...or half the people, anyway.
Sure...some successful people may have had a helping hand in their successes in life from friends, family and others. But that's not what Obama was referring to. He's talking about the government, plain and simple. And he put his statements in that framework in an attempt to convince people his big-government schemes are good for everyone.
I'm simply dumbfounded that people can listen to this man utter such ridiculous statements and not be outraged.
I don't know about you guys, but I've had exactly zero teachers have any memorable positive effect on me. With respect to what Bailey just said, it is a disgusting statement. You may build up a business, and purchase a large building to move into, but government sure as hell didn't make that building that you bought happen.

While I will admit that with out my wifes income I could not be in a possition to start this business. That is IT. And family doesn't count in this statement. I got a credit card from the bank, and not a damn other thing from anyone but advice. SCORE didn't help, being a disabled vet didn't help, no one is building this business but me. Fuck him!

By trying to build his case for an all-powerful federal government, he is only distancing himself from millions of business owners all across America. And with statements like this, you'd think the polls would be different, but when the people of a nation can vote for more free stuff at the expense of someone they'll never have to meet, why not?
Whole damn country is so selfish they can't imagine serving or benefitting anyone but themselves.[Rant1] /rant

Beeho loves to speak in these warm generalities such as "somebody had to help you succeed", implying that you owe those who helped you along the way. Well, certainly, most of us who had parents who raised us well, helped us out in all kinds of ways going up. However, he speaks in the general terms to try to get people to make a leap that somehow they owe something to the public sector (teachers, those who build road and bridges, etc). Like Irving, I have no teachers that came anywhere close to "changing my life" or making me the person I am. Nor any other public sector employee.
My Dad used to tell me that on Friday when you receive your paycheck, you and your employer are square. You don't owe them anything more, and they owe you nothing more. Same goes for teachers, firefighters, etc - they are square on Friday with their employer and society at large owes them nothing more. Nobody owes me anything either.
In 2009 I heard one of Beeho's countless speeches where he called those in government service our "best and brightest". I couldn't believe I heard that, but it said volumes about what Beeho believes. It is truly scary that a majority of those who voted (the dead included), voted for someone who actually believes what he does.

YES! But he never wants to take responsibility for the bad stuff! [Mad]
Tmleader, good for you! If those things in place to help you out on your endeavors don't actually help you then you do it yourself and prove that Americans really can do whatever they put their mind to... for now...

So because roads exist, my wife didn't start up a small business? because information exists, we don't work hard to have our own business?
Kind of fucking insulting...
like, "somebody invented pens and paper, and taught you how to write Thomas Jefferson, so you didnt really do anything..."
"good idea Wright brothers, but it turns out that wind, and wood already existed, and somebody taught you how to use a hammer at some point... so you didnt really do anything.. "
I could go on .... ugh..... lol

If that's what he meant, why didn't he say that?

He meant what Bailey said. I kind of went off topic and that was what I meant.
