I hope this is ok, trying to get someone a job here.
The company recruiter is worthless and I just can't imagine this is that hard.

Needing some C/C++/C#/COBOL (yes, really) coders

1 is a permanent position, a junior programmer, either just out of college or in their 1st or 2nd job (i.e. we'll train you). go to motorola.com, find careers find job #60860 (or search by location and use Boulder, CO). You must be a US citizen and have a college degree in engineering or computer science

also, we are hiring both testers and more senior programmers (C++, C#, SQL, etc) as contractors to hire thru Manpower. Call manpower and ask around. Again, you must be a US citizen.

Do associates degrees count as "college degrees"?

My background is more in Perl, PHP, Javascript and a little Java than C/C++ but I do know some C and C++ and learn quickly. No COBOL experience, unfortunately.

no
you need a Bachelor's in either engineering or computer science (don't ask me why, idiot HR department out of control)

That's cool (par for the course for IT jobs these days).

To be honest, a commute to Boulder didn't sound that great anyway, and something makes me think it would require getting up early in the morning and working in.... ehw... daylight.

Any use for a mechanical test engineer who took a C++ class in college and hated it?

You're right, your recruiter is worthless.

www.linkedin.com is a good networking tool if you don't have the bucks for a typical search tool like monster, dice, or careerbuilder. PM me your email address and I will send you a linkedin invite and you can fool around with it.
