I just got this e-mail from Senator Ted Harvey
Dear Tyler,
I wanted to take a moment to give you an update on an important 2nd Amendment vote that occurred in the Senate today. We finally had a vote on HB 1174--Repeal Sunset Conceal Carry Database. As you know when we originally passed the statewide concealed carry statute in 2004 there was a provision in the bill putting all permit holders in a "Big Brother" database which was to expire this year. Originally, HB 1174 was to extend the database indefinitely but the sponsor offered an amendment to extend it only for another four years.
When the bill first came up for a vote we were able to kill the bill with the help of several Democrats including Senator Gail Schwartz from Aspen. Unfortunately, after some severe arm twisting by the sponsor of the bill Senator Schwartz switched her vote and help pass this blatant infringement of our 2nd Amendment rights.
There is still hope! The bill will be up for a final vote on Monday. Please keep up the pressure on all the Democrats in the Senate but especially Senator Schwartz. If Senator Schwartz's is convinced to change her vote back to a NO we will have the votes to protect freedom and liberty for yet another day.
The following is a link to the contact information for all the members of the state legislature: http://www.leg.state.co.us/Clics/Cli...y?openframeset, Please take a moment to contact those in the Senate you feel might be willing to change their vote to a NO.
Sincerely,
Ted Harvey
