I just got a registration renewal notice and 1 of the cars needs to be tested this year.

I haven't renewed and needed emissions (both) here, so I'm just wondering on procedures.

do I get tested then pay mail my registration tax to the county? or is it more involved? how does the county know if I've been to the emissions testing place if I'm mailing in payment?

or do I have to bring something in person?

also what's up with insurance increases? I just got notice that my insurance in going up almost $1000 a year (on 2 cars and home- other vehicles are with a specialty company). I got a speeding ticket last year and lost a "safe driver discount" plus a surcharge totaling almost $250...but the other $750 is just rate increases. I wish I could increase my pricing 25% on a non tangible item

Can't get renewal until you get emissions done. Get emissions and they'll hand you papers stating you passed. Bring those papers to registration office.

the emissions paper has a little sticker on it
you take that sticker and put it on the registration form, (there's a place for it, should even say) and then mail it in with your tax.

or go in and waste more of those bloodsucker's time

what kills me is that the car is actually consider "exempt" because it's a "kit"....but when I called the title says "replica" not "kit"

the guy at the emission center told me 2 years ago it was exempt, and the county still wants an emissions test

You can do the drive by test-

I haven't tried it yet.

I usually try to hit the drive-by things. Apparently I didn't get it done this time. [Rant1]

Looks like I need to go down to the place and watch the teenagers practice their driving skills until the machine figures out they just can't manage to do it properly and they will just pass it anyways.

The whole emission testing program in Colorado is total B.S. garbage. The retards working there probably aren't qualified to tie their shoes much less operate a motor vehicle.

Thanks for the reminder. I need to get that done Friday. I don't want to go over my 30 day grace period and have to pay the $25 penalty. It's bad enough my 20 year old truck sets me $115 to register in the first place. [Rant2]

I have two cars and two motorcycles all due this month. It will cost me about $900 to get them all registered. Plus the $25 for the e-test on my truck.
