Colorado Springs police are searching for John Calvin Buckley IV, an escaped convict from Lexington, Ky.
Barbara Miller, police spokeswoman, said Buckley, 29, is believed to be headed to Colorado Springs because he has family living in the area.
"We can’t definitively say he is headed to Colorado Springs, but knowing he has family here and that he is an escaped convicted felon, we have to take proactive measures," Miller said in an e-mail.
According to police, Buckley was convicted of several charges in a rape case but escaped July 12 before being sentenced in Lexington by cutting off his ankle monitor and stealing a car.
He's highly trained in weapons and combat tactics, according to various reports.
Buckley was found guilty of two counts of first-degree sodomy, one count of first-degree rape, one count of fourth-degree assault and one count of unlawful imprisonment, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.
Two Colorado Springs officers are currently searching for Buckley, and Miller said the department has issued an advisement to its officers asking them to be on the lookout for him.

Although I hate to bash someone's service to this country . I'm going to have to agree with NightCat . Actions In or out of service reflect on a man and his accomplishments . His actions , I believe should wipe his Ranger tabs for sure . Hate to see this kind of stuff .

What your average joe might not recognize and perhaps only a fellow Ranger will understand, is that he has violated the Ranger Creed, and if he's an NCO then he has also violated the NCO's creed, as well as the Soldiers creed which is absolutely unacceptable.

Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some.

I wont deprive the guy of his valor...

However, a lot of us have been through the shit, and I mean the REAL Shit...not the sitting on a FOB in Taji and these assholes lob motars from the road adjacent to the base..

I mean the Real shit... and we're not like this guy.

We still maintain ourselves, and our integrity and our honor..

Dont care what this guy has been through,...I understand what its like to have hatred for another, or what its like to have family issues..I'm a single father.. I cant stand my ex-wife...I understand how this shit works.

But you dont see me going out killing her or some shit...

idk.....I'm not disgusted by his violation of the Ranger creed.......fuck the rest of it..

Oh, as a retired NCO, I agree with you 100%. He is a disgrace to his oath(s) and to the principles he voluntarily accepted.

I just meant that if I were to have an up-close encounter with him I wouldn't feel as prepared to handle the situation as I would with your average Joe.

Cant disagree with ya there...knowing the capabilities of this man with nothing but his hands should absolute give your average joe the willies...

I myself would still not want to encounter this guy...I may have made it through ranger school and deployed with 3Bat, but I'm not a Big guy like some of these meat heads, I made it through cause I "work smarter not harder" ya know...

But yea, I wouldnt want to encounter this guy....I'd draw my pistol...wouldnt even try and get in a hand confrontation with that meat head

He could be like me and have gone Reserve and moved back wherever home is.

I got a red cross message saying "Hey SSgt, you're gonna be a dad" I finished up my tour and came home, went on In-active reserve duty...doing the daddy thing working a civilian job now...reporting in when Im supposed to and going on my way..

Who knows....I'm sure as F**k glad I'm not at Ft. Stewart anymore...


and in the traditional case of once a Ranger always a Ranger...no, fuck this guy.....we're pullin his short tab.

I for one hope this dude goes down like a little bitch.

I have a genuine fear of some heavy hitting OIF/OEF vet working over some cops. We're already on the "potential domestic terrorists" list. Last thing we need is to be automatically labeled as "extremely dangerous" just because we have a service record.

So here's hoping this guy forgets his training and gets taken without incident.
