I just went to drive up Mt Herman rd in Monument to do some 4 wheeling on my day off and I got to the base of the mountain and there was a roadblock with "road closed" traffic barriers, along with a State Trooper in a SUV and a Forest Service Jeep Wrangler completely blocking the road. The vehicles weren't just parked there, they had people in them and I could see flashing lights further up the mountain.

Anyone hear anything? I know a lot of people go shooting up there and the roads can be a little dicey at times... Hopefully nothing bad happened.

OK, Ok j/k that sucks but i went up to shoot about 3 weeks ago and closed cause of fire. Think it might be closed still because of that??

Did they have an actively manned roadblock with a state trooper and FS jeep then?

Yeah, I really wish I would have asked.

Yep, sure did... Had a blue tent for shade and "Closed signs".... about 4-6 people there also....

Might have not been a jeep but yes two vehicles, one up the road about 200 feet from blockade w/ lights..

Dang okay. Seems like a little overkill, but whatever. I guess I'll go to the range instead. Thanks for the info.

Mudslides, clean up? The state entities are being pre preemptive about people in areas where the potential for mudslides may happen. They rather deal with people upset now than a lawsuit later.
Here's what they are doing in larimer cty. of course wording was changed because someone somewhere was upset at the wording, will it ever end??
