.......Trying to find a cheap Remington 870 12 gauge. Are you kidding me? Who the hell would pay those prices. It didn't matter how beat up they were, they were marked more than or equal to a brand new one in the box. I think I can hold out until someone post one up here or on Colorado Gun Market. I don't know how they stay in business and who in the hell would be dumb enough to pay those kind of prices. It almost makes me wonder who they are willing to sell to.
I'll be posting one for sale in a couple of weeks. My brother is bringing it back to me from out of state.

A lot of shops will haggle with price. I've seen a brand new glock with nights and all accessories sell for $425 OTD [Muaha].

I hear ya. I poked my head in about 10 different places earlier this year when i was looking for a semi-auto 12g and thought the same exact thing. But then I remembered, a large portion of the general public are sheep and ill informed, impatient, or lazy, so it's just a matter of time before a sap walks in.

Speaking of ridiculous prices coupled with crappy availability... I went to 3 different Walmarts this morning looking for Federal 9mm. None of them had it, they just was WWB and a crappy selection of everything else, AND they raised their prices AGAIN. Last May, Federal 9mm was $9.50 for a box of 50, so I bought a whole bunch of boxes. Now it is $12.50 a box! Holy crap!
But it gets better... Then I went to Dick's in the Chapel Hills Mall, and they stopped selling handgun ammo altogether. [Rant1]

You went to the wrong ones. The pawn just east of Windermere and Littleton
has decent prices on some of their stuff. The pawn off 26th and Sheridan has decent prices. Gotta haggle with them though.

I was just at that Dick's last weekend and they had plenty of pistol ammo. I wonder if they pulled it all or sold it all for cheap.
I've looked at a few pawn shops and I agree that most of the time the prices are ridiculous. But then again, I wonder who the people are that are willing to buy them.

I went pawn shopping for guns in the springs about 6 months ago. I didn't buy anything and I haven't bothered going back. A used gun is not worth more than or the same as a new one.
That's why I was dumbfounded when I found my 1947 Enfield No.5 Mk.1 Jungle Carbine in a pawn shop in Grand Junction for $150. Granted, if you didn't know what it was, it could look like something that some redneck cobbled together, with the way the stock is made and that big funnel-shaped flash hider on the muzzle.
It had a sling on it made from an old leather belt, it had a scope mounted on it, the rear ladder sight assy. was missing, and it was generally filthy. But it was a REAL No.5 Mk.1, not a copy made from a No.4, not an import, has all matching serial numbers all over it, just a remarkable find. Really a great score, the only thing keeping it from being a $500 rifle is the 3 holes D&T'd in the receiver for the scope mount. I found a rear sight assy. for like $30, bought a correct sling for $15, cleaned it all up, and it's golden!
I honestly don't think they had a clue what it really was. To them it probably was just some Bubba's homemade deer rifle, made from God-knows-what. It was a sleeper.

I saw a mint condition 870 Marine Magnum once for 300$ in a shop in Arvada. I waited a day to convince myself it wasn't an impulse buy and it was gone when I went back.
I still cry in the middle of the night sometimes when I think about it.

meh...I cry thinking about the time I passed up a M82 with a nightforce scope on it, 2 mags and about 100 rounds of ammo for $5500.[Bang][Bang][Rant1][Rant2][Rant2][Rant2][Rant1][Rant1][Rant1]
I cry about an Armalite Ar-10A4 I passed on in a pawn shop for 900.00. It had green stock and hand guards was my major bitch. Now after not seeing a used 20" flat top for sale since I'd pay 900 for for a pink one.[Bang]

In 06 I bought an Izzy Heavy barrel Fal out of a shop in Cheyenne for $500. It had a broken bolt (very common on these) that I replaced for $30.[Coffee]
I think we started @ $700

Pawn shops will deal if you have cash in hand and they have several shotguns in the rack. I have bought several guns at pawn shops and they have never failed to deal if you are ready to buy.

Well then I suggest not putting prices on them that make me laugh and walk out of the door.[Beer]
Used guns at NEW prices and THEY sell them, go figure.

ACME pawn here in the Springs makes me sick. Their prices are INSANE. They have a great selection at times. Would prob sell a lot more if they priced a little better.

I picked up an almost new (No wear marks) Rem 870 and a box of steel shot for $125 from a shop up in Loveland. This was back in 06 though.

The very best deal I saw was a beat up super mag synthetic for $300. That would have been a decent deal if it was in really good shape but it was beat to hell.

Best ones are the one at 25th and Sheridan in Edgewater, and the other one at Colfax and Teller. Fast Cash. Usually decent selection and will haggle on price. Pasternacks also will haggle - Colfax and Pierce.
