Let us know if attitudes have changed where you have normally OC'ed, I am not trying to make a smart ass comment, I am just curious to see if attitudes have changed since 7/20/12 in our state as far as the public is concerned.

Everyone has their opinion but I just think oc is stupid in general. Even if a perp was around you are putting a big target on you. With ccw the beauty is no one, including the perps, know you have it. And she is likely right, lefties would be completely freaked if they saw you carrying, can't say I blame them so soon after a tragedy.

I saw a guy at Home Depot with his 2 kids OC the other day and thought nothing of it until the guy I was with from work asked "is that legal?" "I don't know if I'd want the attention." I told him Yes and don't worry about it, not only is he with his kid but if he was planning something wrong I'm sure he wouldn't be walking around Home Depot OC. I am curious about the attitudes of others too. OC is your right but you never know it may attract way more attention right now.

I OC almost everywhere I go and where it is allowed.

I OC'd at Wally world Saturday and did get some attention... but I would consider it good ones. Most had eye to eye contact with me and they'd smirk or nod their heads of approval or some sh*t (Hard not to notice'em looking and I can't read their minds), but positive feelings all around.
One guy actually approached me and asked how would it work for him being from Oregon to open carry in Colorado... I couldn't give him an answer and just suggested looking it up before doing anything.

I'm pretty sure there will be some that will feel uncomfortable about it and will more than likely call 911. It hasn't happened to me yet, and I'm not looking forward to it either... but that's still not a good reason for me not to OC [Beer]

I agree with many of the sentiments above, that Im not interested in the attention and thus won't be of anytime soon.

I have already responded to this exact question in another thread...
Confirmation of a Partial Recruitment Tonight (http://www.ar-15.co/forums/showthread.php?t=57801)

I open carried around the Springs today while I was there also. No one had a problem with it that I could see and some had quesitons. I haven't had this many people ask me about carrying a firearm in a year or two compared to the last couple days. This seems like a good chance for us to open people's eyes. [Beer]

These questions are from all types also, those that know what an Hk is, and those that think I mean my gun is from Hong Kong or something.

There was a great article in the June 2012 Playboy about open carry. The writer seemed pretty unbiased and did a great job of explaining gun culture to readers, as well as explaining his foray into open carry. I've thought about it, but I'm not sure I'll be able to stop thinking about people thinking about my open carry. How did you guys deal with this?

(See, I really do read it for the articles).

I think there will be a higher amount of people OC. People without CCW's.. People who are afraid to go out because they dont feel safe anymore..

I OC sometimes, but I also know my environment and I do CC when I feel it necessary to.

Stealth
Surprise
Speed

I'm not sure if that's in the right order (I'm talking sh*t)[Tooth]
When I OC
I try to plan my way in and out of places I go to.
I try not to spend to much time in there as well.
When I'm in there... I move... from point A to B to C... I try my best not to back track.
It's become somewhat habit I don't know what I'm missing. I do stay aware of my environment and of where the crowd is and I'll just try to avoid'em or move quick through'em.
I don't have any Spec Ops tactics when I'm out and about [LOL]
I just try to walk in and out of there as soon as I can.

Holsters and wears just fine. Sorry, would you rather I carry a 500 S&W because obviously if you were faced with a .40 sounds like you would just giggle and fart. [ROFL1]

I was OWB today, but still concealed. While buying a new pair of shoes (not at a big box store) my cover slipped while reaching for a box as the lady was helping me.. Her eyes fixated on the Sig.. she just kind of smirked and said it was pretty.

I have been known to open carry , never had a problem and never had anyone say a damn thing about it . But then again I tend to stay away from popular places .

I think you took that not as intended... After all a Glock 40 is what was used in this tragedy... ooops...

I'd bet the vast majority of Coloradans don't even know that it's legal to OC, I'm sure most people just assume it's not legal. I happen to be one of those too cowardly to try (I hate getting clubbed and handcuffed, try to avoid it when I can), but I sure wouldn't recommend OC anywhere near Aurora for awhile.

Several of my friends I hunt with don't know the gun laws very well. Some of my dads friends who are judges don't know the gun laws very well either. 2 of them didn't know suppressors were legal.
I have had an adams county sheriff tell me it was a requirement to alert that i have a carry permit (wasn't even carrying at the time).

I still prefer CC over OC. The only time I really OC is when I am going hunting and happen to need to go into a store for supplies or something.

I occasionally like to OC and have been wondering how reactions might change since Friday morning...
