Anyone ever try the 30mm-to-1" Delrin ring reducers?
They are supposed to use 30mm rings to mount a 1" scope just as solidly as 1" rings and leave no ring marks.

Please offer your opinion....

Why not just use the appropriate ring for the scope and torque them properly?

Why not, indeed? Certainly an option.

I was asking about opinions on the ring reducers...

Pros ?

Cons ?

Is it "better" to do what you suggest ? If so, why ?

I'm sure they would work good enough. Assuming the fasteners were properly torqued. May also be less likely to leave ring marks.

Just got a scope and mount from another member and it came with reducers in it. Seems to work fine, doesn't leave marks.

Thanks.

I was thinking they might be more gentle on the scope tube, regarding leaving fewer marks, as you point out, as well.

However, I also wondered:
1) Will they hold the scope "perfectly" centered?
2) Will they hold the scope in place "tightly" enough, or would the scope "creep" rearward after a while (and change the eye relief distance etc.)?

Everything depends on your installation. is the mount installed and tightened proprly, same for the rings. Did you over tighten, square? the scope to the rifle, so when you look through it your reticule is horiziontal and not leaning like the titanic.
Scope mfg. have been using inserts for years without issues. Everything comes down to your comfort level with installation.
