Excellent article. Now that we know Holmes didn't have a bulletproof vest on...a CCW holder potentially could have saved many, many lives.

No surprise there: doesn't fit "their" agenda... kudos to the off-duty officer!

Has it been definitively stated by any law enforcement officials that he DID in fact have on body armor, and where at? Or has it all just been media speculation that the black stuff he was wearing just had to be "tactical body armor"? I mean, there's a helluva lot of things out there that are black and scary-looking, but are just nylon. Just wondering if it has been officially verified yet.

Sounds like the tactical stuff you can get from Sportsmens Guide

We know that he was dressed up in SWAT gear, including chest protector, leg protectors, a black helmet, and black tactical gloves. We also know that he was wearing a gas mask and carrying two handguns, a shotgun — and what the media inaccurately, and relentlessly, referred to as an "assault rifle." (The latter weapon was a semi-automatic rifle.)
