Did that douche actually have body armor on? I thought I had read that he did then it was retracted and in fact he didnt have body armor on.
Can someone who has followed this more closely then I have clarify this for me?

From the looks of this link...I'm going to go with no.
Forgive my lack of knowledge...but are civilians even allowed to buy body armor?

Ah ok thank you. I know my father-in-law gets a yearly allowance to buy body armor from Aurora PD but I didn't know if you needed to be military/LEO to purchase it or not.

In the media, a rifle with a detachable magazine becomes a machinegun or assault weapon, or just AK-47 very quickly. Apparently LBE just as quickly becomes body armor.

I don't know. He takes a shot from my red ryder in that LBE, it may stop it.

I'm sure the trial will reveal this detail
Chief Oates already stated he had "Ballistic protection" like police use- an interview with him the other day he stated that he was wearing equipment similar to Aurora SWAT with the exception of one thing (I'm thinking maybe the helmet) and that's what got the PD's attention to him and cause for the arrest. The info I've heard it sounds like he had ballistic protection on his chest, neck, groin, and thighs, possibly shoulders too (Like the DAPS the military issues).

Yes you can. If your wearing it and commit a crime, its an additional felony I beleive. Not that anyone on the board would commit a crime, just saying though.

I have heard this, mainly before Sunday morning, then Sunday morning on I have heard he didnt have any and it was just a tacitcal load bearing vest and drop leg holster.

So looks like he didn't purchase the plates, which would have been over a grand.

That vest is a load bearing vest only.
So, if this information is accurate, a couple of well placed rounds CoM would have ended the threat?[Bang]

Yep. Of course, it was a gun-free zone so that couldn't have happened. Maybe he was just going for the look or he blew the rest of his money on hookers.

Body armor will keep you from bleeding out but you are still going to be slowed down if you get shot. Double tap COM, repeat as necessary.
