So, I figured a few of you may be interested in these: Costco is selling metal storage racks at an awesome price! I bought one last week, then today I went back and bought 4 more.
I cannot find them on the Costco website anywhere, but these are it. (http://whalenstorage.com/category/Garage-Industrial/group/Racks/Black%20Steel%20Storage%20Rack)

According to the company, each shelf can hold 1000lbs and the whole unit can hold up to 5000lbs. I couldn't find a price for them anywhere on the net, but Sears sells one that is the same size and has the same weight rating for $140. This one is on sale for $40 at Costco!
Here's a pic of the one I bought last week in the 2-piece configuration:

The Costco in Colorado Springs had about 20 of them left sitting out, but they could have had a bunch more somewhere else in the store.
in what Costco? i know about 2, 1 in Powers and another one close to chapel hills? i want to buy one tomorrow
thanks in advance

That's a damn good price. I've been scoring gorilla racks (same thing) for $20-25 ea off CL.
Guy in loveland listed 20 of them purchased 4 and he threw in a bunch of small pistol primers, gratis.

I'd be interested in knowing which Costco had these?

Would've saved me a pretty penny if I hadn't already bought a dozen at the normal price. Great deal if someone needs some shelving.
Definitely checking this out next time I'm there. Thanks!
Thanks for the heads up. This will be perfect for the new garage.
Happen to have the width measurment?

I have 8 of those and love them. Picking up four more this week while they are still on sale. They come with little clips to snap adjacent shelves together which makes them VERY sturdy once they are loaded up.

They were at the Costco by Powers and Barnes. Price tag says $64, but they are on sale for $40 at the register.

But can you assemble/disassemble them in about 20 mins each and can each shelf hold 1000lbs? [Poke] [ROFL1]

Well, in that case, yes. Wood shelves will hold a lot. I have plans to build some about twice this size in my garage, gotta get some insulation and drywall done first. Ammo shelves will be 6-8ft. wide by approx. 18" deep, and taller than the garage door track. Each wood frame has support stringers every couple feet or so, and will be screwed right to the wall studs, at every stud. Then use 2x2's for upright support poles/legs on the front corners and the center. There will be 3/4" plywood doors covering it all up, with two large hasps and padlocks.
Very similar to this, but much bigger. I'm tired of schlepping ammo cans up and down the basement stairs.

Oh, I've also got some big-ass shelves in the basement made with 2x4's & 1/2" plywood decking, anchored to the concrete wall, probably 16 ft. long. Those bastards are sturdy enough you could stack a bunch of SB Chevy engines on them.
On sale at costco at highway 7. Im on my phone or I would post pics and more details. Just a heads up for great storage deal.
they are the ones that can be made long or tall. I think 4 wide and about 8 ft tall
$41 a piece normally $65
Really? Thanks for the tip!! ;)

Powers costco had 19 left on the display at 11 this morning. Good find, some folks at work were talking about them too.
At Costco of Powers are 12, less 2 that I pickup right now ;-)
