I never once fly fished before a month or so ago. Been a spin casting guy my whole life.
Then I went to Trappers Lake and a few buds taught me how to fly fish correctly.
I'm doomed. It's like a new addiction.
Just don't hate on me if you see me with my spinner like a bunch of those other elitists!

Thanks Ray!
I got lots of goodies for sale for fly stuff.
I wish I got into it more, it is such an art.

You have my deepest sympathies. To make matters even worse, it's not limited to mountain streams & lakes....

Fly fishing is alot of fun.. I love watching a fly laying on top of the water and seeing a fish come up and snag it. Its been awhile for me.. might have to get back into it.
I feel like you lied to me on that PM you sent a few months ago Gilpin Guy. ;)

Haha! I just started with the fly rod and immediately fell in love with it. I won't abandon the spinnng rod though. Havin different options is always good.

I have seriously looked a Ducky's set-up a couple of times. I just don't have time for another hobby. Nice set-up though.

I grew up fishing on lakes and in the Gulf, and love it. Shark, tuna in the ocean, or walleye and pike in northern lakes are a blast. Never touched a fly rod until a buddy and I rode across Canada on our Harleys. He was quite a fly fisherman, and figured he could teach me as well. I just couldn't get the knack. I looked "like a monkey fu€#ing a football". We both gave up on me becoming a fly fisherman.
However, I throw away tons instruments from disposable suture kits every day, and the needle-drivers and hemostats would be good for tying flies. If anyone wants some, shoot me a pm.
