I am finishing a SPR build, splurged on a nickel boron BCG.

I put the BCG in today and it is tight, feels like it is rubbing the last inch as it locks up. Tried it on a different upper and same thing.

I have not fired it yet so don't know it it will cause fte issues but concerns me.

Anyone else seen this before?

Tried it both ways, just feels stiff. I need to pull the bolt and test again, perhaps the bolt is to tight in the carrier and not the carrier in the receiver.

I have no problems with my Spike's NiB BCG. I ran it dry for about the first 40 rounds just to see what it would do and it worked flawlessly. The bolt was pretty tight in the carrier when it was new but loosened up after a few rounds.

Have you contacted Spikes to see what they say about it? if they say it's GTG try some 1500 grit wet / dry paper to smooth out the bolt, or run it dry for a few rounds, clean then lube. i use 5w20 syn motor oil. YMMV

I played some more and verified the carrier is tight in the upper. In both a spikes and a dons it is much tighter than a bcm carrier. Tight to the point that you have to push it in the last inch.

I am going to bring it over to Rob at Bowers to have a look before I shoot it.
