View Full Version : Opinions on the LCP and Bodyguard
Which one do you like better. My girlfriend is interested in one and I have only shot a LCP. She likes shooting the LCP but I mentioned a S&W Bodyguard and now she is wondering the difference and opinions of you all

I can only speak of the body guard, and I love it. Approx 14 ounces loaded and has a built in laser.

We have both... and both have fair to bad trigger pull. After 100 or so rounds, 'she' decided to stick with the baby glock.
She did prefer BG over LCP -- less recoil, better fit in her palm, and feel better built compare to the LCP. LCP has slightly better trigger.
I hope this helps.

I bought a slightly used Ruger LCP for about $240. When I got it, it had major FTF/FTE problems (probably why the guy sold it). He included a Wolff 12 and 14lb recoil springs, and as soon as I swapped in the 14lb (at least I think it was the 14lb) it was absolutely reliable. I have shot well over 500rds through it now without a single problem. But I love its concealability and it is a nice looking pistol too!
Flipside, my brother-in-law has a Diamondback DB380, that literally is a mini-glock. He loves that pistol, until we went to the range together to compare the two. Of shooting Federal, Remington, Tula, Sellior and Bellot and one other type of ammo, the DB380 had tons of problems. Mostly it was light primer strikes, but he started to hate that pistol after that trip. My LCP ate all of the ammo we tried, and I ended up buying him about 150rds of Federal to replace all of the other ammo he just gave to me since his DB380 wouldn't shoot it reliably.
they both have a terrible trigger my wife has a bodyguard and its hard for her to shoot accurately because she dosent really understand staging the trigger her and i have also hit the mag release button many times while shooting because its too damn sensitive
save your money and get a sig p238

This
Everyone I know that has shot all these pocket .380 have shot the Sig best. SA and carry condition 1 and a safety is not for everyone. If you want reliable and easy, get an LCR
I summer carry a P238 until the Equinox model P938 shows up.

Agree here as well on the 238. I had about every little .380 on the market, and the Sig is the best out there...

I think the Bodyguard is far superior. I have found the ones I have fired to have a smooth, if heavy, triggerpull, and to be very accurate of you can do your part.
I'm thinking of getting one myself.
