View Full Version : Red Rocks Conceal Carry?
Taking the family up to red rocks for some hiking and scenery. I was checking out the website and it says Firearms Prohibited.
Does that also mean CC? I was going to carry but want to be sure. Thanks in advanced! Tried a search and didn't find the info.
Since the Colorado Supreme Court decision, CCW with permit is allowed at all public colleges and universities. Most community colleges changed their policy prior to the decision, allowing CCW with a permit. They can still prohibit open carry.
Concealed is the name of the game!
Assuming the "CC" in the opening title stands for "Concealed carry" not "community college", he's talking about the amphitheater and surrounding trail systems... not the college campus. Either way, I am pretty sure you can carry concealed, but do your own due diligence and don't take my word for it.
Edit: If their website says firearms prohibited, that would indicate that their policy disallows concealed carry...so maybe you'd be breaking their policy and they can force you to leave. ;)

is there a college at the amphitheatre?

Whoops...misread the original post. Red Rocks Amphitheater is part of the Denver Mountain Parks system. CCW is ok with a permit(CRS18-12-201), OC is not allowed, per their rules.

I wouldnt sweat it concealed!. I've even carried for a concert. Just went ankle cause the check waists sometimes. But for hiking, go for it!
For what it's worth I went to a show there a month or so ago and they were doing pat downs and searching bags. I'm sure you'll be fine just hiking around, but it may get more complicated if there is a show going on.

It depends on the show. Also if you're dressed respectable and with your family the patdown will probably be less intrusive. I would not advise carrying anything larger than an LCP/LCR at that venue. If you have a NAA mini you'd do best carrying that instead.

Agreed... I went to a show there a couple weeks ago and could have easily carried -- probably ankle holster would have been best... I didn't, as drinking beer was in the plans as well, but could have gotten away with it pretty easily. Gotta love it when security is a joke and only disarms those without ill intentions anyway.
Probably should of been more specific, sorry I was in a bit of a hurry. We went to the Amp but not during a concert and we went around the whole Red Rocks Park and some trails. I did carry but like always said concealed means concealed. Other than that I didn't see any signs and we were outside the majority of the time. Kind of curious a little more on their policy if they are like the Denver Zoo where the say no firearms but CC with a permit is ok? Thanks for all the input otherwise guys!

Exactly the same.
