I've been toying with the idea of putting a German optic on my new (to me) PTR91. $599 seems awfully high even if it's graded 'Excellent - Like New Cosmetics and Function'

They also have the ZF Model 1 for $429. Are these optics GTG or are there better options? Anyone know of a reputable vendor that would have them for cheaper? I don't need pristine cosmetic condition but I do what it to be 100% mechanically sound.

I will say that for the G3 and FAL this is one of the best sights you can buy. I know they are now $$$ as apposed to $300 a few years ago but you will never kill it.

I have one and like it pretty well. The ZF1 does not have illumination if I recall correctly and is 4x24 where as the Z24 is 4x28 and can be illuminated. The one I received was completely brand new and unused/unissued, but this was a while ago. I have it on my HK G3/91 and was considering pulling it off the stanang mount, adding a picatiny rail on top of it and seeing if I can interchange it between my AR-15 and my HK.

Is it worth the money? I got it because I have an HK which it was made for and I have to admit it is a bit of a safe queen. Although I also have the .22LR kit for it which I've been shooting lately and with the Z24 it is hard to miss. Honestly if .308 rounds were cheaper and more available I might shoot more too. If I had a PTR91 I may see what else is on the market before buying as there are some decent options out there for less. I'd say the Stanang mount is a must as it lets you use your iron sights with the scope on it.

Yea got 1 for my FAL. Go to samco global they have all 3 models for varying prices. RTG is sold out anyway. Had a disagreeement with Rtg, but that happens. Pricy but clear optics and periond correct. Love mine.
