In pike the three ranges that are located south of Pine Junction just passed the turn off to Wellington lake, have been reduced to just one range. Police officer explain the other two were closed due to people shooting trees and leaving to much trash[Rant1][Rant1]. Saturday was not very enjoyable due to the overcrowding of idiots who couldn't stop muzzling my party until I got up in the dads face about it. Then a hoarse of a woman who proclaimed herself as the County Commissioner of Douglas County showed up and made everyone there wait 45+ min for her party to show up take their sweet ass time to set up their tables and then their targets. Then she proceeded to argue that being 10 feet in front the established firing is where everyone else should have been setup, and we were the one's being unsafe. Didn't have to deal with her very long. Only until a teenager from her group shot himself in his hip with a 9mm. Unfortunate for him, but the Commissioner could not of fleed from the range any faster. Without providing any help, my self being the only person to come to assistance with a first aid kit, the worst part being it was the first time my 9 year old daughter had ever been shooting.

this is exactly... EXACTLY what I ran into last time I was up there- down to the asshole dad that did the same thing.

I say shut the place down. The idiots know about it now. Party is over.

This is why it's a bad idea to advertise a nice place to shoot. Don't tell your friends... Don't tell your families. Don't tell anyone or superdad and the county commissioner will come there to shoot some dirt.

Wow. Almost a facsimile of an encounter we had at the Buffalo Creek range a month or so ago. People are a goddamn liability. I'm glad I signed up at a private range - it was that, or body armor all the time.

No definitely not her, maybe the lady I encountered was running for the posision. So whoever this lady in the picture is, and you live in Douglas County vote for her.

The pike foret is open to shooting in most areas as long as you are far enough off a road and trail and have an appropriate embankment to shoot into. Search their web site for the specifics. Also search for the various areas that are totally off limits to shooting. There are a few of those as well.

There are areas near cheesman reservoir that you can pull off the road and shoot, there are ranches that do trail rides in the area however, so make sure wherever you shoot that you are shooting into an area with a hillside behind it.

I'd say vote against the lady in the picture but Douglas County is a one party state. I've had dealings with her.

I assume you mean up towards 285. I was at the South Site today and it was okay. Got rained out which is rare this year.

The gunbums have been there. I only had 3 trash bags and I filled from just a small spot where some tards had brought cases of shotgun and shot the boxes and cans and whatever. I could have filled more without moving around much. The areas back in used to be so nice. It'll be like Rampart in a year.
